The cold air helped her clear her mind from the pest that seemed to occupy it – one Remus Lupin. Okay, he wasn’t a pest, really – but he did enter her mind uninvited. She really needed to learn how to clear her mind more effectively, because every time she succeeded in getting him out of her mind something came up that reminded her of him. Grr, sometimes she really hated the guy. It was becoming an annoyance to her, feeling all that emotions towards a guy who didn’t even notice her. She would take a big bet on the fact that he didn’t even know her name. Boys. They could be so infuriating sometimes… well, most of the time anyway. Sometimes they weren’t – like James when he didn’t act like he was the god that walked to the Earth and that everyone should worship him. Gads, that was even worse! But it was getting better, from what she had seen so far.
She sighed again and pushed some hair behind her ears as the wind had blown it in front of her eyes, obscuring her vision of the moonlight. The creaking of the doors that were opened made her realize that she wasn’t alone at the tower anymore. She didn’t feel like turning around though. Whomever it was that disturbed her clearing of the mind should just go away and leave her alone. The person behind her seemed to stop, or at least Thea thought it was so because she couldn’t hear any footsteps. A quiet rustle of robes made Thea almost sigh in relief when she realized that the person changed his or her mind. Her thoughts were negated when she heard a deep intake of breath (the tower wasn’t that big after all, you could hear the person across the tower perfectly alright) and then the footsteps started approaching her.
“Uhmmm… hi,” a voice floated into her ears and she blinked, slowly turning her head to look who joined her – she wasn’t interested before. Her breath almost caught in her throat, but she managed to stop that from happening. She would be stupid if she revealed how his presence surprised her. Raising an eyebrow and telling her heart to slow down a bit before the boy opposite her heard it thundering in her chest, she said,
“Hi.”
There was a short silence between them and Thea turned her head back to the stars as she asked him in an airy voice, “It’s a nice night outside tonight, isn’t it?”
