TW: sexual assault and rape

Will

I'm eyeing Madeline's men as they head into the abandoned building when my phone starts buzzing in my pocket. I swear to god, Reece will just not let me do my job today.

I answer the phone, irritated. "What now?" The voice that talks back isn't Reece's.

"Will, Will I need your help. We were out- we were at a club, now she's gone. Will, I don't know where she is," Alessia speaks in a panicked tone and I know exactly who she's talking about but I hope I'm not right.

"Ok slow down, start from the beginning."

"We were at a club. We took a couple shots. I thought it'd be fine. We saw some guys and- danced with them- and one guy turned me around- and when I turned back- the other guy and Rayne- were gone."

She sounds like she's running somewhere because of her short sentences and pants in between them. That sounds about right, though. I saw the men take a girl with a paper bag over her head into the building a few minutes ago.

Reece sent me here because he knows that Madeline's been coming here for a few months on end.

"Don't worry, I'll find her." Alessia and Rayna don't know that I work for Reece and I don't want them to. Them knowing would jeopardies the whole operation.

"What do you mean? How? Let me help. Where are you right now?"

"I said don't worry, Sia. Just leave it to me."

"But-"

I see two figures exiting the building and quickly hang up the phone. I've been sitting in the car since last night, making a record for my longest stakeout ever. The windows are tinted black so they can't see me from outside but I can see them.

A third and fourth figure approaches from behind the them but the last person is slumped as if they're unconscious.

Rayna.

I recognise the first two people as Antonio and Tara, the best assassin in the Corsican mafia. I just don't understand what they want with Rayna. She's just another ordinary person. What could she have that they'd ever want.

She must have bought some sort of drug from them and not made a payment or something. What else could it be?

Antonio and Tara step into a black sedan and Rayna and the guard holding her follow suit.

A few moments after they drive away, I turn my car on and follow them.

Or I would've followed them if two loud gun shots hadn't been fired at my car's tires, piercing and deflating the leather.

Slamming on the wheel, I curse as the shooter approaches my car.

I suppose the windows just weren't tinted enough, because when I look up I see Madeline herself standing over my now flat-tired car.

Rayna

My hearing turns back on before my eyes open. I keep them closed to feign the illusion that I'm still sleeping as I listen for something, anything to help me get out of what seems to be a moving car.

"We need to find out what deals she's made recently and if she's in touch with the Don of the Italian-American mafia or not. Once we have all the information we need, we'll kill her."

Why do they want to know if I talk to Reece? I know his and Madeline's mafia have always had a mutual distrust for each other, but it was never anything major.
