Clicking my pen continously on the table I was trying to read the case file before me, but was unable to.

Damn!
What the fuck is wrong with me?

"Good morning Mr. Cranky Khurrana." Karan asked entering my cabin.

"What do you want, Karan. I am in no mood for your bullshit!" I said groaning and getting back to my case file.

"Dude, what crawled up yours ass in the morning?" He asked sitting leisurely on the chair opposite to me.

"Why are you here?" I asked stressing each word. I was already very moody since morning and he is just going to worsen it.

"I went to your sister's office to meet her, but she was in a meeting. So, I thought to meet you." He said shrugging.

"That's great. But I'm really not in a very good mood right now." I said and someone knocked on my cabin door.

"Come in." I said and one of the employess entered with a research of the client I asked for.

I took the file from her and opened it.
"Is this how you arrange a file? These are the basics which were been taught at a very young age. I want everything in sequence. In half and hour. Leave." I yelled and he scurried away taking the files.

Bunch of Idiots!

"Is it about my sister?" Karan asked hesitantly.

"Yeah! Ofcourse Anushka!" I said rolling my eyes.

"Dev, I wanted to talk to you about a case." Jay said entering my cabin.

"Ohh! This useless person in here only." He said smacking karan.

"Jay! I'll deal with you later. Right now, I want to make sure this Devdas is alright." Karan said chuckling.

"What happened with Anushka now?" Jay asked taking a seat.

"I don't know. It just sucks! It sucks because for a few days, I was happy. I had hope. But in a minute I lost it all again." I said sighing.

That confusing Woman!

"Just her name is enough for me to smile, go weak, be happy, get emotional. But she just keeps on hiding her emotions. For god knows what reason." I said banging my hand on the table frustratedly.

"I think you should just leave it to the fate." Jay said and Karan just glared at him.

"Fate? Fate won't do anything if he doesn't try." Karan said rolling his eyes.

"And I was trying. Really hard. She just shuts me off, completely! But that's not the problem. The problem is I know she is as desperate as me for us but for some reason she holds herself back." I said thinking about her eyes which give away numerous emotions.

The way she looks at me, as if I am the only one who exists!
The way she smiles at me, the soft smile with a hint of blush on her cheeks.

"I think it has to do something with her running away. I am sure yaar, she wouldn't run away because she felt trapped. I know her." Karan said confidently.

He's been saying this since 2 years that she can't runaway, she can't runaway.

"And everything is very confusing. She said she wrote some letter to me in which she mentioned her reasons. But we never got a letter, I just recieved a message from her. She has some sister now out of the blue. I don't know how!" I said frustrated.

I am really really going crazy thinking about her!

"You guyss should try & talk." Karan said.

"You think I didn't do that? She is not ready to let me in. I don't know what to do. And to top that, I was really mad yesterday. I said some awful things to her. Things which I don't mean." I said remembering my words.

You're not the one for me!

I won't be a bother in your life anymore.

"Then, just leave her. If she wants she'll come around." Jay said shrugging.

"She won't. I know her. She is stubborn as fuck and now she is made her mind on staying away from me." I said distractedly.

Now, that I remember. She did not even meet my eyes yesterday while the whole trust conversation.

Show me some sign, goddamnnit!

"You'll meet her on the engagement venue anyways after 2 days. Till then just make sure you take your persuading game a level up." Karan said winking.

I just chuckled at it.
"But why should he be always the one chasing her?" Jay asked with furrowed brows.

"This is the reason you are single. Doesn't matter who is wrong, the man should always take a step back." Karan said laughing and I joined him in it.

True though!

I have to take a step back..!

Maybe, I should focus on showing her what I feel for her and not what she wants us to be.

Yeah! That could work.

"Can I ask you something?" Jay asked hesitantly.

"Yeah." I said shrugging.

"Why are you trying to mend things with her this badly?" He asked confused.

"Because, I know she is the one for me." I said dreamily.

Took me long enough to realise!

"But you guyss didn't work out the first time. How are you soo sure now, when she is back after 2 years?" Jay asked.

"Maybe we weren't ready for the first time. It wasn't the right time. This time I am going to be more intentional, corageous and appreciative." I said with a huge smile on my face.

I'll make sure she falls for me!

"What if she doesn't feel the same for you? Worst, what if she runs away again?" Jay asked.

So many questions..!

"Even if she runs away from my arms, I'll still be waiting for her with open arms and take her in the moment she comes back." I said with still the same smile on my face.

"You're too much into her, aren't you?" Karan asked smirking.

"Alot more than I would even know." I said.

"So mission Anushka is still on?" Jay asked laughing.

"It was never closed off." I said winking at him.
