A month later

I was working on a case while paying attention to my phone.

She hasn't called yet!

Well, we kind of had a fight yesterday because of the same issue going on between us. I want to tell mom about us and make them both clear their misunderstandings.

But no, she is hell bent on not wanting to talk to mom.

How is everything going to be fine, if they don't talk it out?

So, I've been giving her my silent treatment since yesterday and she hasn't even called me yet.

Yeah, I mean she did call me in the morning but I was in the shower and then I did not call her back because I am angry on her.

I called the interns that were supposed to report me.
There was a knock on the door and I said
"Come in."

Interns entered with a contract I handed them to study.
"Yess.. did you find loopholes in the contract?
I asked.

"Umm sir— Aranya started and I interrupted her.

"Only talk if you have completed the work otherwise keep the contract over here and get ready to kiss the job away." I said glaring at them.

"Sir, we did start it but it would take an hour more to complete it." Swati said.

I just raised my brows at her.
"Last I checked, I am your boss and you are supposed to submit the work assigned to you in a specific time." I said still glaring at them.

"Sir, we are sorry can you please give us an hour more?" Aranya asked pleading but I was in no mood to tolerate anyone's nonsense.

"Keep the contract on the table and leave." I said focusing on my case file again.

"Sir, we were working continuously. It wasn't our fault that we couldn't complete it in time." Swati argued.

I was going to snap at her when I heard Anushka's voice
"Yeah...oggling at your boss definitely comes under work right."

Then I looked at my left to see Anushka & Jay standing at my cabin door and Jay was trying hard to control his laugh.

"For whole 15 mins they were talking about how hot, sinfully handsome & dashing their boss is. They don't stop here. They even talked about how great you would be on bed." Anushka said glaring at them and I looked at her wide eyed.

Girls now-a-days!

"Sir, no actually— Aranya started nervously but I showed her my palm gesturing her to stop talking.

"Get out of my cabin right now." I said glaring at them.
They both scurried away and Anushka slammed her bag on my table furiously while Jay stood there laughing.

"Karan definitely needs to know this!" He said laughing when Anushka glared at him.

"Let's see if you would laugh the same when you would have a girl in your life and she would hear girls talking stuff about you like that." Anushka said glaring at him.

"They were just fantasizing about your husband. It is really normal, I mean look at him, who wouldn't? Every other girl working in this office has a crush on him." He said and my eyes were as wide as saucers.

Wrong timing, jay!

She would skin me alive.

I quickly draped my hands around her shoulder and turned her to me.
"Don't listen to him, he keeps talking shit." I said smiling nervously while she was busy throwing fire from her eyes.

"Jay, I think you should leave right now!" I said glaring at him and he left laughing.

"You behave too sweet with your employees. This happens then. Those girls are so shameless. They were talking such things about you." She said furiously.

"Ignore them. I'll see them later." I said and then I realised I was angry on her.

Stupid me!

"Why did you come to my office?" I asked in a stern voice.

Suddenly, her expressions turned soft and she slipped her hands around my neck.
"I wanted to talk to you." She said with a smile.

Don't fall for it!

"Why do you want to talk to me?" I said trying to remove her hands.

"Dev!" She whined tightening her hold.

"I am sorry, okay. Just give me some time. I need to prepare myself before actually facing your mom." She said with a pleading look in her eyes.

I held her by her waist and kissed her. Her hands started roaming around my chest. I cupped her cheek with one hand and deepened the kiss.

Suddenly, my cabin door opened and I heard mom's voice
"Dev— She stopped as she saw us and Anushka quickly pulled apart.

Stupid me couldn't lock the door!

"What the hell is going on over here?" Mom yelled and Anushka flinched.

"Dev, really? Do you have to explain something to me or not? You're back with her? Isha told me but I didn't believe her thinking you could never hide such important decision of yours!" Mom said raising her voice.

"Mom, calm down. It is just that we wanted to be sure before letting you know." I said holding her shoulders.

Here comes another drama!

"No, I am sure she would've told you not to tell me. Manipulating bitch." Mom said looking at her with absolute anger.

"Mom— I started but Anushka interrupted me.

"You have no right to call me that. You know how a manipulative bitch actually looks? Exactly like Amruta Khurrana. You could say shit about anyone but I won't tolerate you degrading me. I've had enough of you and your insults!" Anushka said equally glaring at her and taking her bag she left the cabin angrily.

"See, this is how she talks to me." Mom said with tears in her eyes.

"Mom, please try to understand. I can't do this for my whole life. You both have to sort out things between you." I tried explaining mom because she seemed more sensible then Anushka at this moment.

"Okay. Call her home, I'll try to act civil with her.But remember I am doing this only because you are happy. I love you." She said cupping my cheeks and smiling I hugged her.

"Mom you know how much you mean to me. I have only you after Dad left and I don't want to see you unhappy ever!" I said and she patted my back.

"Now go, try & convince her. She won't agree I know." Mom said with a sad face.

"Leave it upto me." I said smiling widely.
