I can't thank you enough!

The engagement was done without any isssues. I was just wrapping around when I heard Dev's voice.
"How much more time do you need?" He whined.

All the guests have left but he wanted to stay back to drop me. Apparently it is too late for me to go home alone.

These are just excuses..!

"If you want you can leave. Don't whine like a kid." I said to him.

"Okay fine. I am standing here quitely, just wrap up quickly." He said.

After 10 minutes or so I was done and I walked towards him while he was engrossed in his phone.
"Ohh Thank god, you're done. I thought I will have to sleep for the night over here only." He said rolling his eyes and then held my hand and started walking towards his car.

He opened the car door and kept his hand on the door pillar again. I just rolled my eyes at him and sat on the passenger seat.
He picked up my dupatta which was lying out from the car and placed it neatly on my lap. Closing the door he walked towards the driver side.

"I did bring my car today. Now am I going to leave it over here?" I whined.

"It will be dropped at your place before tomorrow morning. Stop whining. I wanted to talk to you about something." He said putting up a serious face.

Something is definitely wrong!

"Yeah! What is it?" I asked looking out of the window.

He slipped his hand in mine and entwined our fingers.
"You cannot talk without doing that?" I asked laughing and he just chuckled.

He started driving with his hand still in mine.
"I met someone today." He said and kissed my knuckles very softly.

"Who?" I asked confused.

"Kunal." He said heaving a sigh.

"Kunal? Who kuna— I stopped talking when I realised he was talking about Kunal Tandon, my brother.

I looked at him wide eyed.
"How did you guys meet? I mean he has nothing to do with anything in law field. You ofcourse did not visit any restaurant today and definitely he was not in Rhea's engagement." I asked confused.

"He was there at my office. He wanted me to take up his case." He said and I sat there frozen.

Case?

"Is he alright? Everything's fine at home right?" I asked him impatiently.

Though it was not my home.

He gave a light squeeze to my hand and told me about his case.
"He can never do it. Believe me. I know him, he trusts women a lot to do anything like that." I said to Dev.

"I think he is really being framed. He was so distressed when he came to me. The girl has some influence, otherwise she would not have been able to afford Rajiv Chopra. He is handling her case. And I also think it is pre-planned." He said still driving but caressing my knuckles to calm me down.

"Is this case the one which is very famous among the media right now? 21 year old girl's rape case?" I asked.

Please, not this!
Anything but not this!

"Unfortunately, yes!" He said.

"Fuck!" I yelled.

"Even the media is involved, it means everyone will be sympathizing the victim and ofcourse Kunal is being hated on." I said panicked.

"He is fine right?" I asked and Dev just smiled.

"Don't worry about him. Because for him you are nothing. Why worry about someone who doesn't value you?" He asked.

"I have long accepted the fact that I don't have a family anymore. And honestly, I don't want them as my family anymore. They left me when I needed them the most. But I can't change the fact that he is my brother, I do care for him." I said with a dry chuckle. 

He again kissed my knuckles and was trying to put me at ease.

"You're going to defend him?" I asked.

"I haven't decided yet. I need to do my case study properly because it is going to be one hell if a rollercoaster ride if I take up this case." He said sighing.

"Also, I don't want to end up defending him if he is actually the culprit." He said.

I just nodded my head and looked out of the window.

"We've reached." He said and I looked at him.

He got out and opened the door for me and gave me his hand to come out.
Taking his hand I stepped out.

"Don't worry too much about him. He'll be fine. And If I take his case then you definitely know, I won't lose." He said winking and I smiled.

I did something which was absolutely unexpected by him and me too.
I hugged him. Encircling my arms around his neck and he stood there shocked.
"Thank you."
I said in the crook of his neck.

He slowly encircled his hands around my waist and said
"For dropping you off? Ohh that is always a pleasure." He chuckled at the end.

I pulled away and kept my hands on his shoulder.
I looked into his eyes which always mesmerize me.

I can't thank you enough..!

I can't thank you enough for making me feel like I have someone for these few days.

I can't thank you enough for actually being there for me even when I wasn't.

I can't thank you enough for pulling me to you when I am always resisting.

I can't thank you enough for making me smile a little more these days.

"Okay. Something is definitely wrong with you." He asked.

"Why?" I asked confused.

"You're staring at me as if you want to say a lot of things. You're still holding me when this time It is you who took the initiative of closing the distance between us." He said laughing.

"Asshole. Get lost." I said pulling away.

"Awww..! Now don't lie, I know you love having me around." He said winking and walked towards his driver's side backwards. He was still looking at me.

"Whatever!" I said rolling my eyes with a smile.

I really do love having you around..!
