Chapter thirty-three

"Where did you get that, Vanessa?" My dad asked with a stern tone. But worry showed in his features.

"In the basement," I stated. "Why do you have those weapons?"

He let out a sigh and I saw my uncle walking in with Kyle. He's in this too?! I know he's a hunter but I didn't think he knew about my dad! And he hid this from me?

"Vanessa," my uncle began.

I shook my head, "you guys are hunter supernatural creatures and never thought to tell me?" I asked and crossed my arms over my chest. "Do you know how it felt like being kidnapped by a vampire, which in that time I didn't know he was one, I thought I was going crazy? I could've protected myself better. I would've understood why not to go into the woods at night."

"Look, Vanessa, we'll explain everything." My dad said and I cut him off, "did you know that mom erased my memories?" He quickly shut his mouth and he furrowed his eyebrows. His emotions changed to worry to confusion.

"She what?" He questioned.

I let out a breathy laugh and I could feel myself fighting the tears threatening to come out.

"The guy that kidnapped me knew mom," I stated. I grabbed the picture from my back pocket and handed him the picture.

My dad let out a sigh, "that's how he was able to come into the house." He realized as he analyzed the picture then he looked up at me and I stared back at him but didn't understand what he meant by that. "Vampires cannot enter a house if they're not invited. I knew she was seeing him but I didn't know she would actually let him in."

"Did he have an affair with mom?" I whispered. He looked down at the picture with a sad face. "He hurt mom because you killed his family, why?"

"When I caught them, he threatened to kill me." He said. I looked at Liam and by the face, he was making, he seemed like a shock as me. I'm guessing he didn't know about that. I stared back at my dad. "when his veins turned black, I figured he was a vampire. Before I could kill him, he knocked me out. It took me half a year to find his family and killed them. Sadly, his older sister wasn't a vampire but I had to burn the house down when they were killed but didn't think his older sister was still in the house. I've made a mistake. I felt bad about it, if I knew she was human, I wouldn't of harm her." There was a silence and my brother seemed sad too but also angry.

Then Liam turned to look at me. "If mom erased your memories and now you remember them, do you know why she erased them?"

I let out a laugh, "She erased your memories too! You guys kept things from me for years! Now you want me to tell you all about this?"

"Vanessa." My dad warned and I snapped.

"No! This is not okay!"

"It was for your safety." My uncle said.

I let out another fake laugh, "my safety? If I knew about this way before, I could've been prepared!" I jumped off the stood, grabbed my school bag and Liam's keys since we share the car, and left the house. I could hear my dad yelling my name but I ran to the car and quickly left the driveway. I didn't want to face them. Not now.

I unconsciously tapped my fingers against the steering wheel while I drove to Chloe's cottage. It wasn't dark yet. I kept repeating over and over what I just heard not an hour ago. They knew about this and never told me. Not even after I was kidnapped, threatened by the damn vampire! They knew what it was!

Thank God we all had planned to stay over at Brooks' cottage with Chloe, Gabe, Mike, Amanda, and Logan. I didn't want to stay at my house tonight. I'm going to tell them what happened and we're breaking in into the police station tonight. There's a month and a half left before the end of high school and hopefully, we figure a way to get rid of Axel soon. I want to enjoy my last month of high school without any supernatural drama.
