CHAPTER 10

I let out a frustrated sigh as I climbed into my bed. Now when I'll go to school tomorrow, people are going to stare at me. I'm now the new outsider of the town. There's no way back at being considered as a normal person again. Only if I move far away.

My door slammed open and I lifted my head and saw Chloe barge into my room.

"My dad talked with the FBI and they are letting you out of town to go...." She trailed off, "shopping with me!"

"Probably said yes, but they will send someone to stalk us." I replied.

She shrugged, "Probably, but I want to go buy our prom dresses. Everyone is starting to shop for them and I thought we could go and then share it on the group chat on Facebook." She explained.

"Sure, why not? I need to get out of here, anyways. So many things happened this month." I told her. She smiled broadly and grabbed my arm then yanked me out of the bed. She dragged me out of the room and before we got out, I grabbed my wallet and my phone.

"Alright, I'm driving and we're going to Seattle. I know it's a few hours away from here but whatever. We're going." She explained as we reached the front door. She released my arm from her grip and I put on my boots and coat then we headed outside. "Already told your dad, by the way, and he was fine with that."

I was a bit confused though. We planned to go during March break and now she seems rushed.

"Why are you so rushed?" I inquired as I got into the passenger's side. She went on the other side and turned on the engine.

"Well, I thought we could go now, to change your mind." She explained. "I mean, you got kidnapped, Mike broke up with you, you met a guy then this? I would be so depressed if I was in your situation."

I leaned my head against the seat. "Yeah, thanks." I replied sarcastically. I don't know, but it doesn't make me feel better. I still don't get it. Why is everything happening at the same time?

"What color of the dress you think to buy?" She asked, changing the subject.

I shrugged, "I thought about a light blue or dark blue. I don't know. I'll see what I like the most. What about you?"

She drove out of my driveway and we made our way to Seattle. The closest town of ours is Laurencie which is a little bit bigger than ours but Seattle has many stores which is better for our type of shopping.

"Black or light grey." She replied. Then there was pause. "So what about you and Logan?"

I shrugged, "We're just friends."

"Are you guys texting each other?" She asked and I shook my head.

"No, I don't have his number." I replied. Then I turned my head to look at her. "What about you? Any guys?"

She let out a sigh through her nose and shook her head. "No, but I hope to have someone to go with."

"We could always go with a group of friends." I suggested and she sent me a look then looked back at the road.

"What friends?" She replied, giving me a look. Right...Chloe is the only one that kept talking to me after all of this. Everyone that I was talking to, stopped talking to me. "If you and Logan go to more than friends, I will be alone. I'm not friends with the other gang anymore because I'm hanging out with you."

I raised my eyebrows. "So, it's my fault that you lost your other friends?"

She let out a sigh as her grip tightened around the steering wheel, "That's not what I meant. They talked shit in your back, so I started keeping my distance from them and now, I'm not talking to them anymore. It doesn't look like I was their friends from the beginning, anyways."
