I awoke that morning to an alarm. Of course it sounded exactly like the sort of alarm you got from your alarm clock every morning, and for a moment, I kept my eyes closed trying to reach my hand over and slap it on the Halo Reach alarm clock I always had on my bedside table..when I couldn't even feel the bedside table, I felt confused.
"Whazzu?" I opened my eyes groggily, and saw the cabin around me. So.. it hadn't been a dream.
The alarm was coming from the hovering magic tv thingy, that had floated into my room and was showing the time 7:00 flashing on and off.
I groaned and got out of bed. I already found a set of toiletries in the bathroom, and somebody had laid out a plate bread for me in the living room. Well.. this was actually nicer then the orphanage. Who knew? Maybe I would prefer this place to the world I lived in..
I stepped out, opening the door cautiously. Already, I could see plenty of the other kids were giving my cabin a wide berth. Aparently, what the Ryze and Alistar users Jack and Jose had said about Voidborn really stuck with them.. already I was a social outcast.. not a big deal, not like I haven't dealt with that before..
But I was curious... what the heck HAD happened with Cho'gath and Kha'Zix? Now don't get me wrong. Years of having to fend for myself had made me tougher then nails in some cases. I had no problem with people thinking me a monster, or telling me I was dirt.. but I was scared of hurting people.. that is one of my worst nightmares. To wake up one day and find somebody died because of me.. or I caused somebody pain... for some reason, it sets tears to my eyes.
In any case. I was scared... what if this whole voidborn thing actually got me to hurt somebody?"
As I walked through the village.. I had to admit, for a bunch of lost kids, we did pretty well for ourselves in taking care of needs. We had shops, a clinic, and somewhat of a bank. Everything was mostly made of wood except for the concrete bathhouse..
I nearly lost my head though, when I almost ran into a massive giant lumbering across the dirt road.
He looked like a massive divers suit of some sort, encrusted with seaweed, with two glowing round portholes for eyes.. and draggina massive anchor on a chain.
This was Nautilus, a Champion that was known for being a tank.
According to the gaming lore...Nautilus was man who had become lost at sea, and given to a seamonster by his shipmates. He then joined the League of Legends to find vengeance on those who wronged him.
Nautilus turned to look at me, his eyes peered down like headlights. "Hey.. newbie.. out of the way.. I'm on my lunch break.."
I stared as Nautilus lumbered off. The ground shook with his every step.
"That one's on gaurd duty." A passerby told me. "They tend to give the Tanks the gaurd stuff. Like in the game, tanks have a lot of endurance, so they make pretty good gaurds in real life."
Nautilus wasn't the only champion I saw on 'gaurd duty'.. but I didn't pay much attention. In fact, I tried not to. I was still half convinced this was a dream.
I found Akemi's office alright, the largest building on the other side of the village.. it was still a log cabin of course, like mostly every building. Only it had the same weird sun symbol painted above it as the badge I was given.
I walked up to the door and knocked.
"Come in!" said a voice.
I walked in, and found myself stunned to see a large man dressed in mideavel armor similar to the men that had shot arrows at me.. he had a massive black handlebar mustache, and his size and build would scare the Incredible Hulk to pieces, not to mention the armor he wore.
