*** From Miyoko's Eyes***

I don't know how many times I looked out the window of that bedroom as Austin went to school.

I was scared. Scared that the Pale Man was going to find me, or even worse, find out who was harboring me, and kill Austin.

But nothing happened that day except for me giving Austin a free software upgrade. And when Austin finally came home that evening, it was to find me nervously sitting on his couch, hugging my knees.

"You okay?" Austin asked. His voice sounded so genuinely concerned, that for once, I didn't try to act tough in front of somebody I didn't know for more than a day.

"I.. I'm a little shaken up.. " I said truthfully.

The two marks that now burned upon my back felt ice cold, as if they were telling me how I had been nothing but some pawn to the Pale Man. I felt dirty, tainted, like some sort of puppet.

I felt something gentle on my shoulder and nearly jumped out of my skin, but it was only Austin's hand.

"Look." He said. "I know you're a strong person.. you seem like it at least, but even strong people have breaking moments, and in moments like those, you need somebody to talk to."

"Like you?" I muttered doubtfully.

"Yeah, I find I can be a good listener.. sometimes." said Austin, rubbing his head awkwardly.

I felt little trust for anybody at the moment, but for some reason, Austin's soothing words put me at ease.  And I began to talk.

It was dark outside by the time I finished what I had to say, and by then, Austin looked amazed, as if he just found out that bacon was made of Chuck Norris's beard.

"You're an alien then? And.. League of Legends is just one big cover up for making League Champions as weapons or something?" Austin stammered. "Wow.. just.. wow.. I wish I could go to this Avaron place.

I sighed. "I guess it does sound appealing if you've never been, but most of us just want to get home or survive, it's not a pleasant place if you're a Summoner."

"I don't care, I've got no life here." Austin muttered. "My family could care less about me."

"You have Sam." I said quietly. "The two of you seem like good friends. Could you really say goodbye to him?"

Austin stared at me for a bit and then chuckled and shook his head. "I guess it would be tough to.."

Austin then gave me a more serious look. "But you're back.. you're back in your world, and that Pale whatever guy, he doesn't have to find you.. in fact, well, you can restart your life somewhere other than an orphanage now."

I blinked, not comprehending fully what Austin was saying. "What.. do you mean?"

"My parents couldn't care less who I let live with me at this house." said Austin. "I know we barely know each other, but I don't want you being alone out there. I mean, it's not like you have anywhere else to go right? My family's in the medical business, I can try and get them to get you back into school if I play my cards right."

I couldn't believe my ears. For the first time in the life I could remember, I was being offered something slightly close to a normal life.. away from pain.. a chance at a normal education, maybe go to college, a quiet home.  Way better than any orphanage I had ever taken refuge in.

Then a vision came to my mind. The image of Prince Esgar, Janice, Akemi, the other Summoners, even Selk. And thoughts of Avaron's relations starting to improve with the Summoners thanks to the coming marriage I had agreed to..
