The man who walked in was the same man who had insulted me yesterday in the rehab centre. My rage returned the moment I saw him again, “What the hell are you doing here” I asked. “What the hell are you doing here?” asked the man instead of answering my question. “This is my house and in my house I do the asking and not you, understood?” I roared back
Before he could continue our vitriolic back and forth Adriano walked down the stairs. On seeing the man he said “Good morning bro! What brings you to my humble abode so early in the morning?” I was surprised to see that my brother was friends with this monster. “Who this girl?” the strange man asked. “Bro you don’t remember her? She is my sister. You met her when she was small, now she is all grown up.”
My brother told me to go upstairs as he had some “business stuff” to talk with this man. I guess he sensed the awkwardness between me and the strange man.
I walked up to my room, confused and wondering about Giovanni and if he is still doing okay and also wondering about the relationship between the strange man and my brother, I had too many questions hovering in my head.

“What the hell is going on between you two?” I asked Lorenzo my best friend and business partner for so many years. He paused for a bit, visibly nervous.
After a few silent seconds he answered “I met your sister yesterday at the rehab, she was in Giovanni’s room caring for him checking his vitals, she told me as well but I was so stupid. I said some really regrettable stuff to her. You see Giovanni had relapsed for the second time and I had dropped him at the rehab. I was concerned for his safety and I just lost my cool at that moment. Again I am really sorry”
“Its okay, I will talk to her later and clear things up. Now lets come to the point, what brings you here?, I am guessing something urgent?, is everything okay?”I said.
“No. Honestly speaking everything has gone haywire. Giovanni is missing. Has been missing since yesterday. I have no idea if he is gone to get another hit with is junkie friends or he got abducted, I need your hacker to find his whereabouts, since my hacker has been missing since 2 days, I only noticed today because I was caught up in handling Giovanni’s overdose.” he said
“I am sorry to say this but my hacker is away on a much needed holiday and I cannot just bring him back, But I have another way to help you, but it will require you to co-operate and do something” i said
“Anything to get my little brother back” he said desperation clearly visible in his voice. “My little sister is a tech whiz and I can request her to track down Giovanni, but you have to apologize to her and win her over.” i said
I went to Aurora’s room to get her leaving Lorenzo with his thoughts. I explained her situation and I could see from her facial expression a little sense of guilt, although she did her best to hide it, but nothing remains hidden from me after all I am her elder brother.
We walked down together to see a solemn looking Lorenzo staring at the marble flooring. He hesitated a little on seeing us and he looked visibly uncomfortable as of before.
It must be really difficult for a macho and tough guy to embrace his softer side and apologize and be little humane. Years in the mafia world can do it someone especially if you grow up in one; it’s easy to lose touch with your human side.
I am lucky I still retain that connection and I am sure Lorenzo will be able to muster up the courage. Finally after some contemplation and soul searching Lorenzo spoke up “Look Aurora I am really sorry for what I did yesterday, I was under lots of stress and I just lost my cool when I saw you near my brother, I was worried you were someone there to kill him. Please forgive me, I am really ashamed about all the dirty things I called you.” He looked like he was on the verge of tears.
Seeing such show of emotions I guess Aurora’s resolve melted and she said “I understand and I also have my part to play here, after all I am partially responsible for Giovanni disappearing if I had been around this wouldn’t have happened it’s my fault too. I promise I will try my best to help you guys make it right”.
After the reconciliation the three of us proceeded to my study to get the proceedings started off. We had no time to lose, every passing second increased the uncertainty and we don’t know what might happen. Many questions still floated in the sky “Who took him?” “Was he taken or went voluntarily to get his fix?” “Where he was?” “Was he still alive?”
I also contacted some of my top commandos to be ready for a rescue operation and Lorenzo did the same. Now it was time to huddle in my study and see Aurora weave her magic!
