1 week later....
I woke up a little late today, although my alarm rang on time, I didn't feel like waking up. I guess the cold weather was making me feel a lazy and relax a little bit more in my comfy blanket.
I quickly finished my morning routine, took a hot bath and wore sleeveless black top, black jeans and wore a red checked shirt to go with the black top. I packed my bags and went down for breakfast.
After eating a healthy breakfast of orange juice and French toast I went to school with Emilia.
Giovanni and Luca were waiting for us at the entrance and the four of us walked inside together.
Today was Friday so today we had chemistry practical. Every day we had practical of different subjects.
All the students were divided into groups of two and as usual Giovanni and I were partners here as well.
After the first three lectures we had to assemble in the chemistry lab for the practical. All the students were armed with gloves and protective fibre glasses and lab coats to protect them in case of emergency to protect ourselves from chemicals.
"Gather around kids, let me explain the practical we will be performing today" the chemistry teacher said and all the students followed his orders.
"Before I demonstrate the experiment let me tell you the steps. The name of the experiment is standardization of NaOH, first we will create Succinic acid solution by adding 0.59g of succinic acid in 100 ml of distilled water. Rinse the burette thoroughly with distilled water and then fill it up with the supplied 0.1 N NaOH solution. Pipette out 10 cm3 of 0.1 N succinic acid solution in a 150 cm3 conical flask. Add 2-3 drops of 1% phenolphthalein indicator to it. Shake well"
Then the teacher proceeded to demonstrate the same, after that we went to our respective spots to carry out the experiment all the chemicals and glass equipment that we might need was already placed in front of us.
I added NAOH in burette solution and I told Giovanni to remove 25ml of succinic acid from burette and add it in conical flask.
You use a pipette by a sucking motion to take succinic acid upto to 25ml mark and transfer it, but the prodigal prince must have been sleeping during the demonstration because instead of sucking to the point he took it all in and swallowed the succinic acid and ended up in a strong fit of coughing.
"Is it your first time in the lab? Cant you do even a small task properly?" I asked him angrily
He looked at me desperately and said "its not my fault I am trying my best, but I suck at this subject its really annoying so many steps to follow and rules to keep in mind and on top of that they make you do weird things like sucking"I ignored his remonstrations and continued with the experiment and after successfully obtaining the results I noted them down and got them checked with the professor. After that we proceeded for the lunch break.
