"Come on Kyle! Just one more set and we are done!" Jason encouraged, as he himself jumped over the last metal bar.

"He's pathetic" whispered Trever rolling his eyes glancing at the two lagging members of their group.

"Hey now! Don't tease Beta's little toy" Hathwan said loudly in a mocking tone, "Let him enjoy the special attention before he gets abandoned"

It was loud enough for their whole group to hear loud and clear, most of the newly joined warriors kept their head down not reacting ,  while some of level two warriors who were sitting the sidelines after completing their course snickered.

Jason glared at Hathwan, while Kyle didn't bother looking up as he continued jumping over the metal bars, until last bit of his energy was exhausted. Initially it was hard listening to the constant insults and mocking words, but as the time passed by he got immune to those words.   At least they were much better than the Night Ranger Pack,  he was not physically abused or beaten up or even  ended up locked in a dark bran throughout the night.

Yes, their words were more hurtful than personal insults as they drove right into his biggest fear of being rejected, yet it was soon one would realize those high and mighty acting, level-one warriors were only bark and no bite. They were either newly joined or weakest in the rank of warriors, many of them had the same stamina as him. It made him a little relieved at the same time a bitter smile formed on his face, after a week of intense training with the Gamma and highest ranking warriors of the pack he was only good to be admitted to the weakest group of level-one.

"Five more and we are done! Come on Kyle!" Jason whispered with an encouragingly infectious  grin.

Kyle's eyes met his and a small sincere smile instantly formed on his face. Although Jason was embarrassing, annoying, always copied his homework, got him into trouble and kicked out of the class at occasions ............. yet he was grateful when he decided to stay with him in this group.

Truthfully speaking he always knew Jason got orders to help him around by either Alpha Robin or  Gamma Eric, but it was only outside the pack or supervising during training. He didn't had to give up his position in the level-three warriors to look after him, in-fact he was grateful because unlike most other people assigned to 'supervise' him, Jason was the only one who sincerely didn't mind being beside him.

He panted roughly, leaning down with his hands on knees. The last set of obstacles in his schedule were over as they retreated to the sideline,  "Cheese........ atleast he completed it this time without getting punished" the instructor beside them muttered marking a tick on the clipboard.

"Break of ten minutes, then get in your positions around the ring for one-on-one battles" informed the middle-age instructor, he glanced once again towards Kyle and went ahead towards the last three warriors of star 1,  team 16 who were still running.

Kyle took the bottle Jason handed him and sat down against the tree, still catching his breath.

"I think the instructor was very satisfied with your performance today" Jason grinned looking as radiant as ever, a stark contrast to the haggard exhausted Kyle.

Looking at Jason's sparkling grin most of the members of star 1 team 16 members felt greatly depressed, 'What is this guy doing here? Isn't he suppose to be in a four star team or something?'

Meanwhile Trever rolled his eyes at the jealous gazes of other team mates. He, Hathwan, Jason, Gartern and Keith were the ones shifted down to this 1 star team when it was formed, to keep an eye on Beta's new mate. Admitting that they were all not from the Alpha, but from various elders and Deltas.
