Chapter 16: Yes

~Earlier that night~

📞<Jungkook Calling>

📱JUNGKOOK: "Hyung! Are you still home?"

📱JIN: "About to leave Kook, what's up?"

📱JUNGKOOK:: "Listen, I need you to get something in my room and bring it to dinner."

Jungkook carefully gave Jin instructions. Good thing his plus one agreed to meet him at the hotel so he had extra time on his hands.

Jin went over to the VIP room that Jungkook said. He got the hotel staff to help him and started decorating the place. In no time the entire space was filled with purple and white balloons floating against the ceiling with the strings attached to heart shaped decors.

Most importantly, Jin carefully placed dozens of sketches on the wall. He inspects each one and was really impressed. Getting his phone from his pocket, Jin sent a go signal to Jungkook that everything has been taken cared of.

Jin's message came just in time to calm Jungkook a bit. Despite the asurance that Jin sent, he still felt nervous. He doesn't know how Miah would take the big news. Jungkook pulls a hankerchief out and puts it on Miah's eyes carefully.

"Just follow my lead okay?" Jungkook asked Miah nervously.

"Okay Kookie." Miah replied, her heart is pounding since they got together tonight.

"What's wrong with me?" She asked herself. Just relax, this might just be Jungkook's way to let her know he's doing something and not leaving her alone to face her ordeal.

Jungkook was right behind Miah, holding on to her waist and gives her a gentle push signaling her to walk ahead. Miah started with baby steps, afraid on tripping on to something.

Miah suddenly felt Jungkook's warm breath against her ear. "Walk a bit more angel..." He said in a husky voice sending that familiar current on her spine.

"Okay, this is good." Jungkook whispered again gripping her waist to halt her. "Are you ready angel?"

Miah nods in reply, she doesn't know why her throat suddenly felt dry. The moment her blindfold was off, Miah opened her eyes and was literally shocked at what she saw.

How can this young man make her heart leap for joy every single time. She looks at the beautifully decorated function room. "This is breathtaking Jungkook..." Miah said sincerely.

She walks over the the sketches on the wall and her jaw dropped at the familiar artworks. These are all her work and JK's when Miah taught him to sketch.

Wait... how did Jungkook get hold of these sketches? Her head spun in confusion... Could it be? JK is Jungkook? But JK is a Smith and Jungkook is a Jeon. Miah felt so nervous at what's about to unfold.

She froze for a few minutes then decided to face Jungkook... Miah turned to his direction but to her surprise the room became bigger. The adjoining function room came to view as the divider was removed while she was busy scanning the sketches.

Jungkook was standing farther from her with 6 more people standing behind him. Her eyes were beginning to well up as she recognizes her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Jin with his plus one.

Miah's eyes went back to the wonderful young man who started walking towards her. Jungkook halts a couple of meters away from her and started speaking with a microphone.

"I know you're confused and overwhelemed at the same time... that makes 2 of us angel." Jungkook said giving out a nervous chuckle.

"The first time I laid my eyes on you, I knew you were different... good different. You were difficult to be around with at first, messing up my locker, stealing my car..." At this point Miah and the rest of them were laughing.

"... stealing my gas and all sorts of stuff, but what you eventually stole is what's most precious to me... my heart..." Jungkook's voice cracked and he had to clear his throat to move on.

"... you amaze me with your kindness for others and courage to go on despite the hurdles..."

"... you are so beautiful inside and out. You have so much love in you... which is why... I would like to offer you myself... let me contain your love and I will have you contain mine if you allow me..."

Jungkook's eyes are all glittery as he confesses his love for Miah. He reaches into his pocket, walks near her and kneels on one knee as he opens the purple velvet box. Miah holds on to her chest as she sees a pear shaped pink purple diamond ring.

"Park Miah, I know we're still young and fickle but I'm pretty certain about one thing... I love you with all my heart and if you let me, I can love you for the rest of my life... angel, will you be my future wife in the next 5 years or when you're ready?"

Miah was in the clouds... being overwhelmed doesn't even describe the real stuff she's feeling deep inside. Her eyes never leaving Jungkook's, she finally opens her mouth to reply.

"Yes... yes, I would love to be your future wife." She blurts out, tears streaming down her cheeks but her eyes and wide grin prove them as tears of pure happiness.

"Yes!!!" Jin shouted from the back, heavily applauding the couple. The rest were cheering happily as well.

Jungkook reaches out for her left hand and places the ring on her finger. He stood up and hugged Miah, lifting her from the floor and swirls her a couple of times before whispering. "I love you with all my heart Park Miah... Thank you for saying yes."

Miah backs her head to look at Jungkook. She places both hands on either side of his face, looks into his soul and wipes his tears off. "I love you with everything I have... Thank you for proposing to me."

Jungkook leans his forehead on Miah's and without any warning kisses her on the lips. Jungkook didn't want it to end not caring that their parents were in the same room.

"Yah! That's enough Jungkookssi... You have the rest of your life to do that. Let's all settle down, we're starving!" Jin said out loud.

Jungkook breaks the kiss but doesn't forget to leave one peck on Miah's nose. "Let's eat?" He asked with a chuckle. Miah smiles widely and nods in reply.
