SCARLETT

My Sunday was a total waste, except one good thing.

In the morning, the first thing I did was, rush all the way to my apartment just to find it closed. Then, I went to the office, shortlisted a few houses and worked on the incomplete report till four.

After that, I again went to the apartment. The dealer gave me keys to collect my stuff. I packed all my clothes in the luggage and asked the man to give me a day to shift other big stuffs. Surprisingly, he allowed.

Next, with the luggage, I went to check out a few houses I shortlisted back in morning. I finalized the third one. It was a beautiful villa with a delightful garden.

I made the advance payment of twenty percent, with all the money left in my bank account. Then, I returned to Anderson mansion.

Today, in the morning, Mrs. Anderson asked Aaron to take me to the office. The ride was as awkward as it could be.

In the morning I made a call. Just one call and my bank account filled with cash, too much cash. After that, I transferred 2 million to the house owner. If you are wondering, what magic can a call do, then let me tell you today was my lucky day. It rained cash today!

Investments always pay back, and I always make smart investments.

How, when and where... those are all secrets which are not given away that easy in business! A rule that leads successful business persons to the top.

I used the lunch time to get the house registered on my name and also arranged for few men to pack my things and shift it to my new abode from the apartment.

A new house of my own making, seems like a dream come true.

I left the office at five without informing Aaron, else he would have found new ways to trouble me again. I went to his mansion to collect my luggage.

Rachael asked me to stay for a night and her mom insisted on having dinner with them, but I refused. She took my new address so that she could pay a visit to check if the place is good.

She is such a sweet lady that I doubt if Aaron is her real son. I bid them and left for my new house.

Once I arrived here, it hit me to call Rebecca to know what made her sell the apartment all of a sudden. That woman is so nice and if she is in trouble, I should help her.

I tried to call, again to get her phone switched off. I made a mental note to visit her soon.

I made myself a supper and now I can happily enjoy it after two days of hard work. The meal becomes many times delicious when you are hungry. Maybe skipping the lunch is the reason why it tastes so good.

I just got to take a bite of the sandwich I made, when I heard the doorbell.

It's raining cats and dogs. Who could it be in such a rough weather? No one knows I'm here except Rachael and her mom. Are they here?

I rushed to open the door happy at the thought of being able to return their kind gesture, by giving them a warm welcome.

My beaming face dropped to slack-jawed on seeing someone whom I never want to set foot here at all, the maggot.

"Hello. You are not welcome. Bye.", I said and shut the door on his face.

"Okay, I'll tell Mom of your warm welcome.", he said from the other side. Ugh... I've got to let him in now.

"Come in and dare you enter my house with those muddy shoes on.", I warned, making him remove his shoes off.

"Why are you here?", I asked with folded arms.
