4 - She Said I'm a Crybaby

Gus and I were laying in my bed, side by side.

I had said it was ok for him to leave but he insisted, just in case I needed anything.

I could tell Gus was starting to feel sleepy, but I was awake from the energy I'd gained from my drug-fueled nap.

"Gus?"

"Mhm?"

"I don't know anything about you."

He rolled over to face me. I smiled, seeing his face. With his hair shifted to the side, I saw a tattoo across his forehead that read "Crybaby" in bold, black, cursive writing.

I'd seen markings under his hair that I assumed was a tattoo but I'd never looked at him long enough to realize what it was.

I reached my hand out to touch it.

"Why do you have that one?"

He smiled. "It's to remind me not to be a crybaby." He pulled his hand under his chin. "Other people in the world have it so much worse. Like, I remember when my ex girlfriend Emma broke up with me. I cried, like, a lot before I left her house. And then one of my friends told me she said i'm a crybaby. So that kind of influenced it as well."

I brushed my fingers over the broken heart tattoo on his cheek, and slowly moved my hand down to his lips.

I could feel both of our faces getting hot.

I slowly moved my face closer to his and gently kissed his slightly chapped lips.

It felt like fireworks were going off in my chest.

After we pulled away, we rested our heads on the pillows and stared at each other in silence. But it was a comfortable silence. When I was with Gus, I felt so, so comfortable.

"I think I love you too." He whispered.

I scooched closer to him and he wrapped his long arms around me.

"You're so little" He said.

"Shut up." I giggled, snuggling closer to his chest. I felt his heart beating against me.

"You know how I've posted a few songs on SoundCloud?"

I nodded.

"I think I wanna change my name to Lil Peep."

I looked up at him.

"That sounds good, Peepers."

We both smiled, and fell asleep holding onto each other like our lives depended on it.
