DINNER WITH THE LITTLE SNAKES

The dinning area was a long hall which is spacious and neatly organized, mouth watering foods were displayed, champagne of different years and taste was placed. The aroma of the delicacies filled the room as the maids stood aside in the hall.

While awaiting the arrival of Simoni, the aura was tensed and silent. Suddenly, Simoni entered the room looking bright in her nightgown, she watched as they accessed her from head to toe.

   'Do we have a problem?...I could freeze with your stares you know' Simoni said jokingly then she reached for a seat.

'Hi... am Solo, your step sister [smiling]... I'm glad (Adnes quickly interrupt)

' Hey (faking a smile) I heard our big sister would be around [standing from her sit] ...I never knew she would be this pretty [Simoni wondered what they are up too now ]... (Adnes faces Solo) oh..please don't mind me, Solo... I assumed you are done with your introduction. So, sister Si.ii..oni..yes Sioni right?' Adnes asked as she stares at Simoni.

'my name is Simoni not Sioni' Simoni said as she corrected Adnes.

'Ahh! My bad! ...anyways both felt the same to me' Adnes said as she went back to her seat.

As everyone started eating their dinner, Juni who was sitting right next to Simoni intentionally let go of his wine glass which landed on Simoni.

'Oops...everyone makes mistakes right? Said Juni with a deadly stare on his face.

'It has begun' Boyi whispered

'You say something little rat?' Juni asked Boyi who tried to avoid his eyes.

The wives chuckled as Simoni looked with disgust as she stood. She knew what she has gotten into and she must not be feeble.

'I am fine, I can handle this' Simoni told the maid who quickly tries to wipe the mess Juni caused.

Juni stood up and left the hall. Simoni looked at him as he went then she sat down and ate her food with constant smiles appearing on her face. The women wondered why she was smiling, keeping different impressions in their minds.  

'Well sorry about that, my son must have slipped his hand' said Roka.

'It's alright.. (she smiles) after all he is my kid brother somehow..some..how' said Simoni.

Simoni continues to eat and unexpectedly she paused and dropped her spoon on the table.

'Madam Roka.. Have you ever in any house or situation seen.. (she chuckled and paused)... Wow.. (she rolled her eyes ) Seriously this is annoying... A bastard should always know his place right?'  Simoni said as she glares at Roka.

'Damn! that was fierce' Solo murmured

Roka frowns and left the table, Solo followed. Simoni noticed Boyi who was silent and attentive to her. She noticed he has been stealing glance at her right before Juni acted immature. Simoni noticed a cute young child at first before getting to know he was Miranda's son as she entered the dining hall.

'Your hair is nice' Boyi told Simoni

Simoni touched her head but was surprised by what he said because she was wearing a hair bonnet. 

'Thanks.....but you can't possibly see my hair well through the hair bonnet, said Simoni.

' It alright now, Boyi, come let me take you to bed...and you...(looking at Simoni's gown) oh..please clean up!' said Miranda as she took her son and left the dining hall.

Danita and Adnes quickly moved to the seat next to Simoni. Agnes asked the maids to clear up the table and leave. As they left Danita began to talk.

'If you like yourself, stay away from that boy' said Danita.

Looking confused Simoni asked her what she meant by that, 'Boyi can see things you can't see, things none of us in this household can see', said Adnes.

'He told his mum that you won't get to see your father before he dies. Surprisingly you never did', Danita added.

   'That is actually creepy, he might just have said it out of nothing, possibly a guess', Simoni replied.

Danita and Adnes looked at each other and laughed at Simoni.

'It is left to you to play the ball in your court as you like dear... well (adjusting her seat well) I would like you to get closer to your sister (pointing at Adnes) she has a lot to teach you about our country here, you know you are new....( looking at Adnes) ...she can take you to the mall and many places...I, Danita will be a mother to you (smiling) ..Isn't that so Adnes?', Danita asked.

Simoni was wondering what has come over both of them. She has sensed both mother and daughter to be so much alike. They wanted to be nice and close to her  because of her newly acquired properties. Adnes stood up and moves close to Simoni.

'I have been hoping for an elder sister......my prayers has been answered' Adnes said with a smile.

'Well you have a big sister before, Solo, she is also your big sister', said Simoni.

Adnes was looking discouraged, she told Simoni she meant a bigger sister then Simoni looked at her and laughed.

'okay I get you, but am sleepy now' Simoni said as she  left the dining room to her room.

Danita and Adnes looked at Simoni as she left.

'Mother, I don't think she would be an easy one to brush up mam, she is somehow proving to hard, she is even trying to decode all my approach', said Adnes.

Danita looked at her daughter and said, 'we are not giving up either. 'She is a threat, it actually not her fault if not for Chief that shared the Will like a mad man, giving us 5%, how are we to share that?. I want you to watch out for the others, I am sure they must have started scheming their plans. I want us to always be ahead my child' said Danita.

They both left for their rooms.

Simoni was thinking about the dinner; the conversation she had with Adnes and her mother. She looked through her window to see the stars shining bright. She believed her mother was one of the stars, then she prayed to God for wisdom and understanding to be able to live with the women and their children. She also prayed that she continues to be saved from the evil scheming of the people in and out of the mansion. After her prayers, Simoni took her phone and played a song which was on replay in her song library, with an earphone she listened to the song, and after the second replay, Simoni slept off.

That was one tensed night for Simoni but I think she handled it pretty well.. What do you think too?
