MY FAIRY GODMOTHER

Little 5years old Wan was peeping on his parents who were discussing their outing plans respectively. His facial expression was sad and grumpy, out of a sudden, Wan's mother remembered that the next day is Wan's 6years birthday. Sad-looking Wan was brightened by the mention of his birthday. He believed his parents had forgotten his birthday but he never let the chance of a tiny hope slip away. He rushed back to his room smiling and believing he would spend his birthday with his parents.

On his birthday, he woke up at exactly 6:30 am to tidy himself up, he was anxious and delight that he wished the day never ends. He thought his parents would come and give him a surprise in his room, he was staring at his room door till daybreak. It was 8 am, Wan left his room to the living room, he saw his Father carrying out his briefcase, his mother came to the living room with her traveling box.

'What's happening?' Wan asked.

'Darling I am having an important meeting this morning' said Wan's father.

'Uhm I also want to sort out some goods from the warehouse in France baby.......(moving towards Wan)....baby.. (she adjusted Wan's shirt) ... my baby... there is a baked egg in the microwave, you can have that with the bread in the fridge' said Wan's mother.

His father received a phone call and went back inside to get his car keys and back to the living room. Wan's mother was packing her bags while Wan stood where he was sobbing. He was so angry at his parents and he yelled out that they couldn't even spare him this day of his birthday. His parents looked at each other and they hugged him goodbye while his mother whispered a 'happy birthday to his ear. Wan tried to free himself from their hug and ran up to his room crying. His parents left for their business.

Wan recalled how many times his parents had excused themselves on his birthday. He remembered living in that big house alone at times. He busted into tears and covered himself in his duvet cover. As he was sobbing he wished he could have a fairy godmother pop out of anywhere to comfort him and would be with him always. Wan slept off under his duvet cover.

After a long sleep, Wan could feel a hand touching his feet. He grinned as it was pleasing to him. He kept smiling in his sleep and suddenly he woke up. He stretched his body while rubbing his eyes too. Wan opened his eyes and saw a beautiful young woman dressed in a purple long dress, and a warm smile on her face.

'Who are you?' Wan asked

'I am Pamila' the young woman said. 'You wanted me here, here I am' she continued.

Little Wan was surprised and couldn't comprehend so he asked if his parents sent the young woman. She told him that she was on her way to her world after a mission but she was drawn to the sound of a crying child. She told him her presence was granted because Wan wished for a fairy godmother. She tried to talk to Wan and told him some interesting adventures she had encountered in the mortal world. This took a while and Wan slept off. Fairy Godmother Pamila sealed his memory of their encounter.

Three days later, Wan's parents came home and met Pamila. They were surprised to see a stranger in their home, Pamila quickly cast a spell and their facial reactions changed happily.

'Oh you are the nanny we asked to come last week' said Wan's mother.
Wan's father took the bags inside and came back.

'Sorry we couldn't pick you up, I had to go and pick up my wife from the airport' he said to Pamila.

Pamila spoke to them assuredly, informing them that she will take good care of Wan. They both smiled at Pamila and left for their room. Pamila smiles as they left for their room. She cooked dinner and as from that day, Fairy Godmother Pamila started living with Wan.
