A BAD DAY

Simoni was sitting at the terrace of her room, with a fashion magazine on her hands and a chilled mango smoothie placed by her side on a stool.

'Hmm, but he must have surely lacked home training' said Simoni as she recollects her visit to the bookstore.

'Was I too harsh? No...not at all...Simoni don't think too much, there are depressed souls out there and they just wanted to lash it out on someone' Simoni said to herself.

She placed the magazine down and took a sip of her drink. She sighted Boyi walking around the compound, at a closer look, she noticed Boyi was playing hide and seek game and wondered who he was playing with so Simoni stepped out of the room to meet him.

'Catch! Catch! Should I let the cat out?' Boyi chants as he was trying to look for the one in hiding.

'Who is he playing with? His friends?' Simoni wondered as she moves closer to Boyi.

'Can I join the game too?' Simoni asked.

Boyi looked at Simoni with no response. She asked him again but Boyi ran away. Simoni followed him then stopped at the back of the house, there, she saw Boyi talking to the wall.

'Can she play with us?' Boyi asked the wall.

There was a continuous conversation between Boyi and the wall which made Simoni wonder what is wrong with him. She moved close to Boyi unnoticed and placed her hand on his shoulder. Boyi looked back but out of sudden, Simoni set aback, shaken by the look on Boyi's face. His eyes were all black and Simoni screamed out of her sleep.

Simoni was covered in sweat, trembling, and scared. She ran out of her bed and took the glass cup of water from her mirror stand. She drank the water and calmed herself. Simoni went to the terrace, she looked around the compound and suddenly she felt very hot and had a mild headache. She saw Boyi who was standing and looking straight in her direction.

'Oh my gosh! So creepy' Simoni mumbled as she hugged herself.

'Simoni it is just a dream, snap out of it, it's nothing' Simoni told herself.

She went back to her room and laid on her bed.

'What a bad day' Simoni said to herself.

She couldn't go back to sleep, after rolling on the bed here and there, Simoni stood up from her bed and started thinking aloud.

'What is the deal with this Boyi? He acts like a strange one, all those scary movies I have seen are not much different from him...(shaking her head).. calm down Simoni, what if I am overthinking?'Simoni asked rhetorically as she moves around the room.

Simoni rushed downstairs in a short knicker and an oversized top, looking aimlessly as if she wished to ask anyone available the questions on her mind.

'Please come' she said as she saw a maid passing through the corridor.

'Yes madam, Do you need anything Ma?' asked the Maid

'How long have you been here?' She asked the maid as she draws her to a corner in the corridor.

'Two years Ma' the maid answered as she wonders why she asked

'Oh that is very nice ...(looking around)spill everything you know about Boyi and her Mother' said Simoni

'Madam that boy is another personality entirely (trying to rest comfortably on the wall) I used to take care of him during my first arrival here. Madam....from all that I heard, he speaks to himself, laughs unnecessarily and at times break things we least expected....ehm... ( pointing at the entrance of the stairs)..there was once a big flower pot there before...' said the maid as she scratches her neck.

'Really.. what happened? Simoni asked as she was eager to know more

'Well when his mother asked him after breaking it, he said there was a friend of his trapped in the flower vase'.

Simoni looked stunned and thanked the maid as she left for her room but was more curious about Boyi and Miranda.

'I will find out about them... Uhm so creepy...can I sleep with my light off ever?' Simoni said as she looked all over her room frightened.
