SIMONI

THE ENCOUNTER

'Mum...mum...mum!'

Simoni yelled from her sleep. She started panting, feeling uneasy while holding her chest, she quickly reached out for her bed drawer. She picked up a small white plastic bottle which she struggled to open.

'Open please..' she murmurs

Simoni tries as she struggled in opening the bottle, suddenly it spilled out and she reached out for two tablets which she immediately picked and swallowed.

       'Who is it?'

Simoni asked as she heard a knock at the door

'It is Madini' said Madini

Simoni calmed herself as she quickly hid the bottle under her pillow then she unlocked the door for Madini. A serious-looking Madini saw through a suspicious Simoni then he decided to know why she was panting and took long to open the door.

'Are you alright?' Madini asked Simoni while scanning through her room

'I am fine ( she smiles ) Uhm why are you here? Simoni asked

'Please take good care of yourself, you are panting and you claim you are fine, Simoni, you are my responsibility in this Mansion, I am never letting anything happen to you so ( looking at Simoni as she tried to distract him). You can't distract me, just listen to me please' Madini said to Simoni as she was exhibiting a funny face to distract him.

'Okay I have heard every word you said, and I will put that into consideration (glancing at Madini's questioning face) eh you are doubting me, right? (she smiles).  I'm fine and you should be fine too.' Said Simoni

'Alright if you say so, well I wanted to invite you to the home office downstairs, there are some papers you need to go through.' Madini said to Simoni

'Uhm Madini, I would like to take a stroll around the island, so...can I do that... I mean the paper stuffs when I'm back?' Simoni asked Madini

'Oh okay, it aright' Madini replied

Simoni furthered by telling Madini how she wants to leave the dramatic atmosphere into the outside wall of the mansion.

'I want to see places on my foot, feel the green leaves, embraces the fresh breath of the neighborhood' Simoni said as she closed her eyes.

She opened her eyes, waiting on Madini's response, then Madini tried to talk her out of going on foot

'But I think you should go with one of the boys to drive you around. It's not safe too... (Simoni interrupted) I  will be fine, I won't stay out late,' she said with a smile on

Simoni wandered around the avenues, just like a lost puppy. Lost in her pool of thoughts, she brushed her feet on the ground playfully, still lost in thoughts. Her face looking sad and a fake smile, obviously trying to unleash its cover.

'Hey! Watch where you are going' the man in the car who almost hit Simoni yelled.

'Lypami! Lypami!!' Simoni exclaimed while she left the road.

'What a crazy woman' the man in the car said as he drove away.

'What was I thinking ? I almost got hit by a car, I need to go back home now' Simoni said as she turned back.

'Gosh! I should have said I'm sorry in English not in Greek' Simoni recalled as she went home.

Simoni sat on her bed as she recalls her memories with her late father- the seldom visits after marrying another woman- which he did for three years until Madini started appearing instead of her father. She was pained with the memories as she squeezed her palm continuously while holding back her tears. Simoni thought about her mother and how she was strong enough to hold up till her last breath.

Just when Simoni was busy with her thoughts, she heard continuous knocks at her door, hesitant to stand up, Simoni decided to open the door.

'I just can't stay in my room in peace now' Simoni grumble as she reached out to the door

As she opened the door, what lies at the outside wall of Simoni's room brought her to a fall on her knees.
