More then a best friend

Part 13

As Marie was waking up she noticed that is was midnight and Danielle was still here. "Your still here sweetheart?" Marie asked yawning. "Um, yeah I am." Danielle said trying to sound like nothing was wrong. Marie noticed the distanced in her voice and knew something was wrong. "Danielle, what is it? What's wrong?" Marie looking at Danielle in her eyes that seem to be so broken. 

Danielle got up and sat down by the window looking dazed and lost in her thoughts. Marie got up, went and wrapped her arms around Danielle. "You don't have to tell me just lean into me and let me be here." Marie said rubbing Danielle's back. 

Danielle lays her head on Marie's shoulder and just stares out the window thinking how everything seems better when she is around Marie. 'Richard and me don't have that spark anymore. Marie, she keeps me calm, sane, makes me actually have hope again.' Danielle thought. Marie noticed while she was looking over at Danielle that she was deep in her thoughts. 

 "Danielle, do I make you uncomforable?" Marie said with a worried look. "No you don't why you ask?" "I feel like something is on your mind that you are really strugging to figure out that's all." Marie said getting up. Danielle pulled her back and said, "Marie I love you to death. I'm just thinking how you make me feel and how he makes me feel." "Oh...," Marie said looking towards the night sky. 

Danielle looks in Marie's eyes and says, "Marie I love you. I actually love you more then I do Richard. You make me have hope again. You listen to me, understand me, and when I need to cry you let me cry. You don't judge me. You let me be me. So believe me when I say this Marie, I love you." 

Marie pulls Danielle onto her lap, looks in her eyes, her lips, then back in those brown eyes that makes Marie fall so hard that she can barely breath. Danielle looked into Marie's eyes and barely says, "go ahead." Marie's grasped and slowly kissed my lips. "I loved the taste of her lips against mine." I finally decided to pull away. Marie looks at me and smiles. "Marie...I..I..I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." Marie smiled and went and grabbed the ring and slipped on the promise ring onto my finger. After about a hour of just sitting and enjoying each other's company. Marie finally said, "let's just get some sleep." All I could do was nod. So we ended up laying in her bed. I wrapped my arms around her and fell into sleep.
