Whenever korra leaves for avatar duties she never says 'goodbye' or anything like that. In some traditions saying goodbye is bad luck that will end in the other person dying.

When korra feels homesick she'll take a cold shower to remind her of the cold
Even though being the avatar does make korra more durable asami would let her walk out in the rain or snow so she won't get sick
When asami leaves for work korra kind of acts like a puppy waiting for their owner to get back. Like she'd wait very close to the door and get really happy when it finally opens.
Korra gets scared easily but covers it up with anger. So it might look something like this
Bolin: *scares her*
