(Two chapters in one day. Smut coming up soon. Enjoy!)

Mere seconds, and Harley's fist was connecting with the Joker's bony face. Deadshot was convinced he heard a crack but there was nothing to show for it when the Joker landed on his ass.

Harley stalked over to him, gripped his sleeve, and looked down through two narrowed eyes. "You bastard! Where is she?!" Harley screamed, punching him again. Ivy wanted to intervene but everyone would think she was defending the Joker. She knew he didn't need defending, and she damn well knew he didn't deserve it. Especially if he knew of Lucy's whereabouts.

Joker chuckled as blood poured from his nose and mouth. "Now, now, Harley, a magician never reveals hi-"

"You have two seconds to talk, clown!!" Harley growled.

"Touchy, touchy, I guess it's true what they say about mama bears. HAHAHA!" Joker laughed.

"Yeah, well yer about to find out!" Harley prepared to punch him again but Flagg caught her fist.

"Hey, come on. Pipe down, no use in drawing attention to ourselves now." He said, trying to pull her off Joker.

"I swear, I'll kill him right now!! They can get his corpse once I'm done with 'im!!" Harley struggled to get out of Flagg's grasp but Deadshot helped him keep her at bay.

Meanwhile, Joker sat up, spitting the blood from his mouth and laughing out loud, hoping to mock her more. Oh, how he got off on it!

"Who's Lucy?" Oswald asked Edward.

"I think it's their mutt daughter or something.." Edward answered, but felt something at his ankle. He looked down to see vines wrapping up around his leg, and then saw Ivy walking toward him.

"Be nice." She warned. Once Edward nodded, the vines unwrapped from his ankle.

Ivy then turned her attention to Joker. "You have her?" She asked coolly.

Joker grinned in response. Ivy shook her head, beginning to follow the group into the chemical plant. They had finally made it through the gates and now were attempting to go through the large, metal doors.

Deadshot and Flagg used their body to run through the flimsy doors, which quickly gave way, making the men land on the ground.

"Fuck! It smells like rotting corpse in here." Deadshot said holding his nose.

"That's exactly what it is." Harley sighed, taking a moment to look inside. "Wow. This place looks..worse."

"You can blame the housekeeper, she stopped coming after accidentally falling into one of the vats years ago." Joker spoke nonchalantly as he walked past the group.

Deadshot took a moment to look around. "How the hell are we supposed to lie low in this place?"

"You got any weapons up in here?" Flagg asked Joker, who frowned at him

"You got any weapons up in here?" Flagg asked Joker, who frowned at him.

"How rude, that's inappropriate guest banter." Joker shook his finger at him.

Harley sighed and looked Joker dead in the eyes. "Yeah, second floor. There's a control room and a whole buncha showers. You'll see a little latch supposedly bolted on the wall between the showers. It's loose. Help yourselves."

Joker chuckled as the group migrated to where Harley instructed, but left the two clowns behind. Once they were out of earshot, Joker found the perfect opportunity.

"You know, I was just thinking about the first time I brought you here." he spoke flirtatiously.

"It's best you stop that, that was a lifetime ago." Harley said. "And quite frankly, the only reason you're still alive is because of Lucy. I need to know where she is."

"Of course you do," Joker chuckled. "Don't you worry that aging blonde head of yours, your precious Lucy is safe."

Harley looked suspiciously at him. "Safe? Do you really expect me to believe that? You expect me to believe you, out of all people, would keep her safe."

Joker had lost any semblance of a smile at this point. She was pushing all the wrong buttons, and yet somehow...he found himself more drawn to his former flame.

"Well, seeing as she's my blood, Harls..." He said in a hushed tone.

Harley's eyes widened. He wasn't supposed to know. That little factoid would land Lucy in a world of trouble. The world would turn on her. No one was supposed to know, not even Lucy.

"Have you told her?" Harley asked. "Have you told anyone? How did you find out?"

"Not yet." He grinned. "I have my ways."

"You know it goes without saying you'll have to keep this a secret." Harley reasoned. "If you love her like I do."

"It's out of my hands, Harls, especially when she continues my legacy." Joker laughs. "It's great!"

"No, it's not! You really want your daughter to follow in your footsteps? To follow in mine?" Harley asked. "Look at us! What we're doing now is all we've known...Lucy isn't a criminal, J, she's a normal human being. She's more than this. I wanted to give her the best life, the life I couldn't have." Harley argued, taking a step towards Joker, who kept that stupid grin plastered on his face. "The life you couldn't give me." He laughed louder at this.

"It's not funny, J, listen to me!" Harley was in his face now, in all her vulnerability, in all the pain a mother could possibly feel. "Our history aside, don't you think we need to give Lucy a better life?" Harley asked.

Joker looked down at her. Those lips. Those eyes. The tears streaming down her cheeks.

He brought his face closer to hers and smiled. She felt intoxicated for a moment, his face so close to hers. She suddenly remembered the feeling of being so irrevocably in love with him.

"No."

With that, he walked up the stairs to join the rest of the team, leaving Harley behind with her thoughts and emotions. She sobbed to herself, trying to find a way to change the outcome but she knew it was useless.
