There was no motion. No movement.
Not a single flinch.
Joker and Ivy had stayed put at the door of Madhatters cell.
"He's not awake?" Ivy said quietly to Joker.
Joker frowned and huffed, walking in slowly yet aggressively, gripping his Glock tightly.
"It's not polite to ignore guests, Jervy." Joker growled, speaking slowly, stalking closer to the bed in which the figure lay.
As he neared the bed, he noticed the figure was completely frozen. As he reached out to touch him, Joker could feel heat emanate from the figure. And then, a glow. He retracted his hand and took a few steps back, unsure of what it was.
And then, he heard Jervis's giggles growing louder and louder.
Ivy realized the louder the laughter, the more attention he'd draw.
"Shit, J, we gotta keep his voice down. We can't draw attention to ourselves anymore than we already have!" She warned.
Joker looked briefly at her and growled down at Jervis, grabbing onto what he could and lifting the laughing maniac on his feet. He then pushed the barrel of his gun to Jervis's throat. "Shut the fuck up, or say sayonara to your voice box."
Immediately, Jervis's laughter stopped.
J looked at the mans eyes and noticed there was blackness in them. Emptiness. It was unsettling, even for him.
"Sooo, what have we been up to, Tetch?" Joker grinned in his face.
"Uh, J....there are guards coming up, closer and closer..On our way up I threw my tracking seeds, they'll grow eventually, but we don't have much time!" Ivy warned.
Joker growled and rolled his eyes, sucker punching Jervis to knock him out, and carrying him over his shoulder. He walked to Ivy and nodded.
"Let's ditch this popsicle joint."
And with that, they were evading bullets thanks to Ivy's quick-growing shrubs.
They were out and in the waiting car, and on their way to Joker's place to question Jervis and come closer to bringing an end to this madness.
-----
Joker grunted as he practically threw Jervis's body on Ivy's trimming table with a loud thud. The man could have hit his head violently, doing some serious damage, but obviously that was the least of Joker's concerns.
There was a slight glow to Jervis's skin.
"How's he doing that?" Joker asked, raising a nonexistent brow.
Ivy looked the man over.
"Fluorescence..." she observed his eyes, lifting his lids. She froze for a second, her conversation with The Penguin suddenly plaguing her mind. She grabbed onto Jervis's chin and rotated his head so that the side of his neck was exposed.
And there she saw it. The culprit.
She reached in and pried the microchip off his skin, holding it up for the Joker to see. Jervis stopped glowing completely.
J made an O shape with his mouth, observing it by bringing his head closer.
"Our dear friend Penguin was telling me about this recently...Now we have a connection." Ivy sighed. She looked at Joker who, for the first time, seemed a bit taken aback by all this information. It put a big, wide grin on Ivy's face. It felt good to have the upper-hand on the clown for once.
"That little investigation the three of us led against that exploding truck?" Ivy asked Joker, watching his eyes light up.
"How could I forget?" He asked with a grin.
"Cobblepot found a microchip near the body...well, whatever was left of it, anyway." Ivy explained, putting the chip down on the table. "And it looked very much like this. But which one of our...colleagues...uses microchips?"
Joker laughed. "Well, Ivy, you know I'm always looking to upgrade my tactics..who's to say one of our own isn't following suit?"
"Like you made 'upgrading tactics' a thing, clown." Ivy rolled her eyes.
"Well...last I checked.." Joker walked slowly behind Ivy, running his cold hands up and down her arms, "you liked my tactics." His voice was a whisper near the end, his warm breath whisking over her ears.
Ivy looked back at him and gave him a fake smile. "You have two seconds to move away before my plants climb up your legs and make sure you won't be able to implement those tactics ever again."
Joker smiled and backed away. "Lighten up, Pammy! Although I do like it when you get uppity." He gave her a devilish grin.
Ivy sighed and shook her head.
"Look, I need you to keep this between us." She said.
"I'm good at that," he winked.

Lucy sighed as she stared up at the television screen. It was a dull show and she just wasn't feeling it anymore. After three hours, her brain was practically numb. She watched as the man who was watching over her, Johnny Frost, walked in with a tray of food.
Her face was blank as he put the food down.
"Bone apple teeth." He said goofily with a smirk, hoping to earn a smile at the least, but nothing. He sighed and sat next to her.
"You gotta eat." He sighed.
"No thanks." Lucy replied flatly.
"I'm the one that's gonna get my ass handed to me if I let you starve." Johnny explained.
"Cool." She said.
"I already explained to you-"
"Yeah yeah, I'm safer here. Right. I don't even know why I got into this mess when I was trying to escape from being captured in the first place. I mean, how lucky can I possibly be to get kidnapped a second time?" Lucy asked.
"A second time?" Frost asked.
"It doesn't matter, okay?" Lucy sighed.
"You don't know about the shit happening out there, it's like a damn apocalypse." Frost explained.
"And the Joker is trying to keep me safe from it..." Lucy said dully.
"Hard to believe, I know, but we all have our reasons." Frost explained.
"Yeah, he probably found a willing victim to rape." Lucy scoffed.
Frost chuckled. "It ain't like that at all."
"Then?" Lucy asked.
Frost stood up and slowly walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him.
Lucy watched the door shut and heard the lock click. "Strike two.." she muttered to herself.
