I searched the entire castle but couldn't find Ophelia

I searched the entire castle but couldn't find Ophelia. I was walking through the corridors and saw Theodore Nott, one of Lia's friends. We've never spoken, but maybe he knows where Ophelia is. There's no harm in asking.

"Um, hello," I said, and Nott turned around to look at me, a confused look on his face.

"Hi?"

"You're Nott, right? One of Lia's friends?" I questioned, just to be sure.

"First of all, it's Fifi. Not Lia. And secondly, I'm her best friend, not just one of them like you." He smiled rudely at the end.

It really baffles me how Ophelia can be friends with gits like this. I'll never understand it.

"Alright... Well, with you being her best friend and all, I assume you know where she is?" He stopped smiling and bit his cheek.

"I'm her best friend, not her keeper. I don't track every move she makes. That sounds more like your job. Being her stalker and all."

"I'm not her stalker—"

"Yeah, okay, Potter. Why don't you just continue your quest on finding Fifi?" He started to leave but stopped to say one more thing. "Oh, and could you be a good little owl and tell her to come meet me when you find her?" He flicked a galleon at me. "Thanks." He walked away, waving carelessly at me.

I hate her friends. I really do.

I kept searching for her and still couldn't find her. I went outside to get some fresh air. I stayed there, looking out at the scenery. With all the craziness that goes on, I forget how beautiful Hogwarts really is. My favorite place being... Of course! That's where she is. How could I forget?

I went running towards the Black Lake. That's Ophelia's and my favorite spot at Hogwarts. There was this more secluded area by the edge of the lake that was kind of hidden by a big tree, its vines creating a sort of wall. She said it was a secret little corner to hide in when you wanted to escape from the world.

I finally made it there and saw the big tree. I walked through all the vines and leaves to get inside. Once inside, I saw her sitting there on our bench, the one we transfigured together in second year, just staring into the lake.

She didn't even bother looking to see who it was. She knew it had to be me. I'm the only other person who knows about this place. I walked quietly towards her and sat down next to her. We stayed like that for a while, just staring into the lake.

It was peaceful.

She laid her head on my shoulder, and I interlaced our hands together. In that moment, I felt the calmest I've ever been. I never wanted to leave this moment with her. I didn't want to break it... but I had to.
