We were now in the great hall hearing Professor Dumbledore's speech. I was sitting at my house's table, in between Draco Malfoy and Theodore Nott. Surprisingly, Draco and I are really close friends even though he chooses to terrorize my other friends. He has always treated me with kindness and has always helped me whenever I needed it, he's a big flirt and never misses his chance to send me a wink or pull me closer to him. Hermione, Ron, and Harry hate how close I am with him but they've learned to accept it. My other best friend is Theo. I've always liked Theo. He's really laid back and down to earth, he acts how he wants and doesn't give a rat's ass what anybody else thinks and I've always admired that about him.

I wasn't really that close to anybody else in Slytherin. Don't get me wrong it's not that I don't like them, it's just that I didn't really have anything in common with them, but I still made the effort to try and talk to everybody, except 3 people, who I just could not put up with, Pansy and Draco's goons, Crabbe and Goyle. Those three really trigger something in me. Pansy is always trying to start a fight with me because apparently I'm stealing her Dracy-poo, and the Goons are just stupid, they do everything Draco tells them to do just because Draco said it, it really is quite pathetic.

I remember how shocked everybody was the day when I was sorted into Slytherin, never in my life had I seen so many mouths drop open.

Flashback

"GRIFFINDOR!" Ron had just been sorted into griffindor like the rest of his family and I couldn't have been happier for him.

Then my turn came. McGonagall called out my name and I went to sit down on the chair and got the sorting hat put on me.

"Hmm, interesting little thing you are. So many secrets, so many missing parts of your past. Yes, a true mystery you are. There's no doubt you'll be a powerful witch no matter what house I put you in. But which one will make you great hmm?" The sorting hat talked.

"Please be Griffindor." I whisper underneath my breath.

"Griffindor ey? Yes, no doubt that you'll fit in perfectly there, you're very brave and a loyal friend but there's something else...something darker. A thirst to prove yourself, seek vengeance on those who have wronged you. A difficult decision this will be, if I sort you into the wrong house the consequences may be grave. You need a house that'll help you get what you want but also help guide you so you do not stray from the person you are now."

Everybody was now staring at me highly curious as to where I'll be sorted. Most of the students at Hogwarts already knew me from my times roaming the school grounds when Severus was my guardian, so they all wanted to know where I'd end up going.

"Very well... let it be" The hat paused and I could practically feel my heart in my throat.

"SLYTHERIN" Slytherin? I never really saw myself as a Slytherin. I don't mind it though, alot of the most powerful wizards have come from that house, I just need to not loose sight of who I am and I'll be fine.
