"The Yule Ball has been a tradition of the Triwizard Tournament since its inception. On Christmas Eve night, we and our guests gather in the Great Hall for a night of well-mannered frivolity. As representatives of the host school, I expect each and every one of you to put your best foot forward. Because the Yule Ball is, first and foremost, a dance."

The crowd of Slytherins broke into unhappy groans, making Professor Snape glare at them violently.

"Silence! The house of Salazar Slytherin has commanded the respect of the wizarding world for nearly ten centuries. I will not have you, in the course of a single evening, besmirching that name by behaving like uncivilized, ignorant prudes."

"Never thought I'd hear the day Sev called us prudes," Ophelia snickered with Theo as they listened to the awfully long speech he was most likely forced to give.

"Now, to dance..." Severus looked like he'd much rather die than continue. It was obvious these were not his words, likely McGonagall's, as he read from a piece of parchment with the utmost seriousness. "Is to let the body breathe. Inside every girl, a secret swan slumbers, longing to burst forth and take flight."

The group of Slytherins laughed at the unusual words coming from Snape's mouth. He looked like he was drinking acid every time he uttered them.

"Something's about to burst out of Pansy Parkinson, but I don't think it's a swan," Theo whispered to Ophelia, making her look up at the girl in question, only to see her jealous glare burning into her.

"That girl needs to be checked into a bloody mental hospital..."

"Inside every boy, an elegant serpent prepared to strike. Now, it seems that I must give a presentation on how to formally dance, but I will not force any of you to come up—"

"I'll do it!" Ophelia yelled, standing up. She knew the only reason Severus wasn't doing it was because he himself didn't want to, not because he was looking out for his students.

"No, Miss Black, that really isn't necessary—"

"It's really not a problem at all. I don't mind, Sev." Ophelia didn't wait for his response as she strutted to the front of the class where Severus stood. "Okay, so what do I have to do?" Ophelia questioned with a big smile on her face, standing in front of Severus, who looked like he might just kill her for volunteering. But then a sinister glint appeared in his eyes as a smirk slowly formed on his features.

"Mr. Malfoy, help your classmate with the demonstration." Ophelia's features fell.

Draco's eyes widened as he nervously chuckled. "No, I'm not a dancer, sir. Theo, on the other hand—"

"I said your name, did I not? I will have no complaints from you, Mr. Malfoy." With a sigh, Draco stood up and walked towards Ophelia, shaking his head and whispering as soon as he was near her.
