Part 93: Kamijiro confession

Kaminari and Jiro got up around that time too and came down to eat.

They kind of were avoiding each other though. Jiro especially looked ticked off over something and glared at Kaminari when he wasn't looking.

Had they managed to have a fight between the time they got back and now?

Wally didn't get what they could possibly have fought over, but years of League stuff had taught him to spot tension at least...but he'd never been really good at resolving it... That was more Shine's thing... Dang it, he missed her. The dorms were just too quiet.

He wasn't the only one who thought so. Mina and Tohru said the same thing.

"I guess I got used to her being around to say hi to us and ask us how we are," Mina admitted, "It sure is weird."

"Yeah, I didn't think I even noticed her much while she was here," Tohru said.

"Isn't it kind of nice not to have anyone to watch us though" Sero said, "We used to be free around here."

"Uh...West is still here, man," Kirishima said.

"We both know he's not nearly as strict," Sero said, "I mean, he won't care if we argue or something."

"I don't think you've got that right about him..." Kirishima said.

"Well, anyway he's not as scary," Sero said.

"He could hear you," Jiro said darkly, walking by looking like a storm cloud.

"What's eating her?" Kirishima asked Mina.

"I dunno. She's been like that since she got up," Mina hissed, "But I think maybe it has something to do with Kaminari. They aren't talking at all, and he keeps looking at her kind of like a hurt puppy."

"Do you think he confessed, and she turned him down?" Tohru whispered.

"Why would she do that?" Mina scoffed, "She obviously likes him, so it can't be that."

"I think he likes her though," Kirishima said, "But I didn't know she liked him. Does she really?"

"Duh, can't you tell?" Tohru asked.

"Not really... She's kind of mean to him," Kirishima said.

"Jiro's just the type of girl to treat someone she likes meanly," Mina said, "Trust me. She can be a bit rough even with us."

"Well, if that's true," Sero said, "Then why is she angry at him?"

"You tackle Kaminari. We'll tackle Jiro," Mina said, with the air of one going to the mattresses. (That means going to war, for those of you who haven't watched The Godfather or You've Got Mail.)

A short conversation later, Kaminari told the whole thing to the guys, though he was still unsure about it.

"Jiro hugged you?" Sero couldn't believe it. "Wow..."

"But I screwed it up," Kaminari said, "I don't know what I did... Maybe I said something."

"I can't understand that, though," Kirishima puzzled.

"You guys are no help," Kaminari whined.

"Maybe she was just mad you didn't hug her back," Sero suggested.

"I thought she'd kill me if I did that!" Kaminari cried, "I mean, she's kind of violent."

"True, she's not very nice," Sero said, "Especially to you."
