S E R E N I T Y

I never liked to turn down an invitation. I used to spend so much time cooped up in my room writing, I missed out on many opportunities to just have fun. When the writer's block ultimately hit, I was able to dedicate more time to enjoy myself. A successful night out to me was waking up the next morning, trying to piece together what happened the night before. I wasn't a sloppy drunk but I wasn't exactly a classy one either, I had fun and I wasn't overly concerned with my appearance under the influence.

I returned home after work and immediately got into the shower, going through my whole wash routine. I exfoliated twice a week and did a deep nourishment mask once a week. I liked pampering myself and only used the best products when it came to bathing. I only used unscented soap for my vagina though, there was no need to throw her off with overly complicated products.

An hour later I was out of the shower, moisturizing my skin from head to toe. I preferred to use body oils rather than lotion when it came to moisturizing, it just felt better on my skin. I wore one of my finest lingerie sets, hoping I would be going home with someone who wasn't Andrew. I was casually dating and just dropped the last guy for his perpetual lateness, I needed the release.

The dress I decided to wear stopped mid-thigh with two slits on each side. It was a deep forest green, a color I found complimented my skin quite well. I paired the dress with a pair of black heels and wore my usual jewelry. A Cartier bracelet, a few rings, and a gold necklace that had my name on it. I looked through my assortment of nose piercings and chose one that would match my necklace. I plugged the hole in my nose while I was at work, Mr. Harrington didn't approve of any piercings other than ears. Traditional, but it was time he tweaked a few of his rules.

Andrew came at the exact time he said he would and not a second later. I did a once over in the mirror making sure my hair wasn't on the way to frizzing. It was naturally curly, but I liked to straighten it when I wore thin strap dresses or silk. It just looked nicer to me.

His 2021 Lexus IS that he bragged about for hours when he bought it was parked in front of my house, letting the whole neighborhood know he was outside. It was an impressive car, so I let him bore me to death on make and model and how much mileage it had. I could care less about cars though, my brother or my dad handled all of the issues pertaining to my vehicle while I sat in the driver's seat and looked pretty.

"You smell wonderful, what is that?"

It was my favorite kind of compliment, I prided myself on smelling good and tasting even better.

"Thank you, but next time you come to pick up a lady make sure you open the door for her." I buckled my seatbelt and looked over my nails deciding I'd make an appointment with my manicurist to get a fill-in soon.

"You'll have to forgive me Rin."

He turned up the radio and began cruising down the streets, the GPS occasionally telling him when to make a left or a right turn. I always liked watching the city come to life at night, the bright lights illuminating the streets. Nightlife excited me and seeing so many people dressed up for a night out got me excited to do the same.

"Where are we going anyway?" Andrew had left out the name of the lounge we were visiting, only making sure to tell me the dress code. "Have you ever heard of Luxe? It just opened up downtown." Of course, I'd heard of it. I planned to visit it when it opened but work had me so busy I settled for local bars instead.

"You have excellent taste, Mr. Young."

He smiled and pulled into the parking lot, remembering to open the door for me this time. Andrew knew the co-owner of the lounge so we were able to cut that line of people that were waiting outside. I accepted the special treatment and ignored the eye rolls as I entered the white double doors.
