Noah was at my house early the next day and I was shocked to find that he didn't come alone. Our dear friend Andrew came stomping in behind him, suspicion all over his face. Noah apologized for bringing him along unannounced. He'd told him to stay in the car but he refused, telling Noah he had something important to speak to me about.
Apparently, the pair were going on a trip to God knows where and I was on the way, that was why Noah was able to drop off my clothes and why he'd come so fucking early. Begrudged, I listened to Drew confess that Katrina would also be joining them on their getaway.

How wonderful.

"Are you sure you don't need me to come? You usually bring me along when you travel." I never volunteered to do more work but it just seemed unfair that Katrina knew where they were going and I didn't. Not for personal reasons, of course, I was still his assistant. What if there was an emergency and he wasn't available to take the call? I was the next best contact. "I appreciate your zealous but it's not a business trip." He looked at his watch and then back up at me, "we have to get going, Andrew?"

"I'll be out in a second," he replied. Noah nodded and wished me a good weekend.

"You're a traitor you know. I get Noah leaving me in the dark but you?" I crossed my arms and glared at the stranger in front of me.

"We're not going anywhere you'd want to be Rin. Noah's parents are paying for this trip to wine taste and his mom liked Kat so she told me to invite her. And me the traitor? Why did Noah have to come by to drop off your clothes?"

I guess that made me feel a little better but no one loved wine more than me. "You were there when he asked me to come to his house. It was pouring last night and I didn't have an umbrella, he offered to dry my clothes." I hated lying to Andrew and hated that he was one of the only ones able to see right through me.

"No, something's been strange for a while now. The day after your date with Alex you were acting weird." He proclaimed.

How annoying, "can you keep a secret?" To be honest, I didn't know why I asked. Drew would step in front of a bullet if it meant protecting someone he loved.

"I don't gossip Serenity, I'm not a fourteen-year-old." Said the man who spent multiple hours with me at the bar gossiping about office romances.

"We haven't had sex but we've been...intimate?" Was there another way I should've worded it? It wasn't like I was talking to Vanessa who wanted to hear every little dirty thing I've done. This was Andrew, Noah's thirty-one-year-old best friend. A man that I'd seen naked, a man that I've flirted with on multiple occasions. A man whom I loved and trusted with my whole heart.

A man that loved me in a way that wasn't always platonic.

"See, I told you he didn't hate you." He stated gingerly.

"You were right for once Mr. Young. Apparently, his disdain for me was because he was trying to avoid this but you know how persistent I can be. Did you know the whole time?" Another stupid question Serenity. "No. Noah is pretty private with that part of his life so I don't pry." He shrugged while popping some grapes into his mouth.

"Is this totally weird?"

Would he be honest with me if it was?

"It's cliche enough to be believable." His chestnut eyes softened and he exhaled loudly. "Be careful Rin, I know you and I love how passionate you are but Noah.." He paused, "Noah isn't like that."
