The next day
"I'm fine, I'm sorry to scare you like that last night". I said to Lan Zhan, he came to visit me this morning to check up on me and to scold me, I knew he was a little upset at me for my strange behavior even without him showing it.
"What happened last night? I haven't known you long, but it wasn't like you to act that way". He asked, I cleared my throat.
"I tend to get easily distracted in my studies and when I get over a sickness, I get into a bad mood and lock myself in my room for a few days, it's more of a bad habit that my father doesn't like". I said.
"And your hand?". He asked, I looked at my bandaged hand.
"I had a nasty fall, it's from when I got sick. It was a good thing my father was in the area when I passed out". I said.
"You seem to look better than yesterday, you were quite pale and tired". He said.
"I had a lot on my mind, another habit is that I can't stop thinking. I just can't seem to shut it off and get sleep deprived, it could happen for days". I said.
"Thinking about what?". He asked, I froze for a moment before putting my cup down that had Jasmine tea.
"Things I shouldn't be thinking about, scary thoughts. I'm scared that If I go to sleep, I'll dream about it happening and think it's real". I said, he stood silent.
"Does that mean I'm truly a bad person? To think about such things on another person, does that make me lower than the Wen's? Or something worse than that? Something far worse than any evil thing on this earth?". I asked as I closed my bandaged hand gently, with barely any force.
"In my opinion, it doesn't make you a bad person. You don't act on those thoughts, Baihe Meigui; they are merely thoughts, and you can dismiss them if you choose to". He said, I smiled slightly as I looked at him.
"Your words, for some reason, bring me comfort and make me feel somewhat better. You are a person of great kindness, Lan Zhan... thank you". I said.
"You're welcome. If it helps you distract yourself, then I'll make sure to visit regularly, with your permission". He spoke softly.
'He possesses a truly kind heart; may it remain unfading through the years ahead'. I thought.
"I would love that very much; I enjoy your company". I said, he did a nod. We talked a little more about random things and how things are going between him and Xinga, he's starting to open up to her and talks more, a bit bubbly and clingy but enjoys having her around, not that he's going to admit to her.
Can't blame him though, she'll start being clingier if he does. We decided to walk around with Long Pingdan and Baihe Dong.
"Have you talked with Wei Wuxian yet?". He asked.
"We had a brief moment of tension, but we discussed and resolved the issues. Initially, it was somewhat strained, but now everything is fine". I said.
"You guys argued?". Baihe Dong asked.
"Yes, but it was resolved after some time, my mother's guest made their first move, a good one at that". I said.
"What are you going to do?". Lan Zhan asked.
"You mean, what I did". I said, he looked at me.
"Pardon?". He asked.
"I already counterattacked". I said smugly.
"Like?". Lan Zhan asked, soon there were screams from the bathhouse, I took out a bottle which made Long Pingdan and Baihe Dong's eyes widen.
