It took the doctor the entire day to tend to Baihe Meigui's injury, she had lost a lot of blood and her physical state didn't help the doctor to try and keep her alive, the doctor himself was disgusted and angered by her condition, he knew her well and often cared for her when she was a little girl who would often get sick and injured or from her night hunts as she grew older but this was something way worse.
He saw her as his daughter so she was never charged for the treatment and the doctor worked extra hard to ensure she lived. After the long and stressful day of treatment, he was finally done and gave her medicine for the pain before leaving her room and closing it behind him with a calm but firm look on his face.
"How is she?". Sect Leader Baihe asked with worry, the wife was sitting a bit away, still crying, still can't believe what happened a few hours ago.
"Lady Baihe lost a lot of blood but she didn't hit anything vital, she's a bit malnourished and with bruises on her body, her weakened state gave me difficulty to keep her alive, adding the blood lost, I would say her heart stopped at least twice during treatment but I was fortunate to bring her back those two times. I gave her medicine for the pain and is asleep now, I'll come back later tonight to make sure she's alright". He explained, Sect Leader Baihe sighed heavily.
"Sect Leader Baihe, if I may speak freely". He said suddenly, he did a nod.
"You may". He said.
"Lady Baihe is a strong young lady, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Not to mention her amazing and unrivaled Cultivation skills and abilities, but I fear that her mental health is more deeply concerning to me as a doctor, whatever was said or going through her mind at that moment must've pushed her to that breaking point to end her own life. Knowing first hand of her relation with Madam Baihe, I suggest Lady Baihe stays away from her at all times for her own safety". He explained.
"It's sad for me to say this about the poor girl but, Lady Baihe is suicidal along with her Chronic guilt disorder. The mental trauma she has from her mother is too much for her to handle anymore and could end her life at any moment if they speak with one another again, for her safety, they must remain apart or either one leaves". He said, Sect Leader Baihe closed his eyes with a hum.
"I completely understand your concerns and appreciate you sharing them with me. I want to assure you that I will keep them in mind as I consider possible solutions. Once you return tonight, I will have given it some thought". He said, the doctor bowed.
"Very well, with your permission". He said before he left, Sect Leader looked at her with a stern look.
"Malnutrition and bruises? Do you get a kick out of it, Youshi? Seeing her in pain and attempting to end her life in front of you, all because you don't want her to marry Wei Wuxian?". He said blankly.
"It-".
"Or maybe because of something she was born with? or that boy from Magnolia? become his slut, huh? do you want to see her suffer so badly? taken advantage of and being afraid of being touched or loved?". He said, his voice getting angrier as he spoke.
"When will this hatred stop!? All she wants is your love and support but you're acting like her damn enemy! If this keeps going then you'll be the reason she snaps and hurts people!". He said firmly, she looked down with nothing but guilt and did not say a word.
"Stay away from her, if I ever catch you near her, this marriage is over". He said, she looked at him with her eyes widen.
"D-Divorce me!? But that's going too far!-".
"So is you throwing a knife into her cell and telling her to kill herself!". He snapped, she stopped talking and clenched her clothes tightly.
"When she returned from Lotus Pier, she was happier than I had ever seen her. Wei Wuxian gave her something she had always wanted and truly needed. She was calling for him, wasn't she? She was longing to go back to Lotus Pier?". He asked She looked away and didn't say anything, confirming his own words.
"Why prevent her from being with the one she loves and the people who care about her? If she is happier at Lotus Pier with Sect Leader Jiang and his family, then let her go. You want to be rid of her, don't you?" he said. He heard footsteps behind him, which made him look, and he saw Long Pingdan with his head down.
"Sect Leader Baihe". He said with a bow.
"What is it, Long Pingdan?". He asked, not really in the mood to speak to anyone at the moment.
"Could I please have your permission to see Jiejie? I'm concerned about her and would like to ensure she's feeling okay. It's important to me that she's doing well-".
"She's fine, Long Pingdan, go back to your room-".
"You may stay with her till the doctor or Baihe Dong returns". He said firmly, cutting off Madam Baihe.
'He's improved on his speech, he no longer stutters or is afraid to speak to me, going to Nie sect may have helped him with his confidence, I'll acknowledge it for Meigui's sake'. He thought.
"Thank you, with your permission". He said before we made his way to Baihe Meigui's room and closed the door being him.
"Go to your chambers, I don't want to see you". He ordered, she took a breath before standing up and bowing respectfully before she walked away.
Timeskip
Later that night
"The doctor just left, he said everything is fine with Jiejie, he said to inform him when she wakes". Long Pingdan said with a bow and Baihe Dong and Sect Leader Baihe entered her room.
"Alright, thank you Long Pingdan". Baihe Dong said.
"Eat and rest, you can visit tomorrow in the afternoon". Sect Leader Baihe said, he did a nod.
"With your permission, good night Brother Dong, Sect Leader Baihe". He said before he left and closed the door behind him.
"She's never done this before, no matter how much Madam Baihe has pushed her, trying to take her own life without a second thought? I'm worried". Baihe Dong said with furrowed eyebrows as they stared at her unconscious self on the bed.
"Youshi didn't think she would either, she was in shock and horror when I walked in and saw her trying to help her". Sect Leader Baihe said.
"What do we do? she usually speaks freely to Lan Wanji or Lan Xichen but they've been busy at the Cloud Recesses recently, it's impossible to seek help from them right now". Baihe Dong said worriedly.
"You sent them the letter as you were told?". Sect Leader Baihe asked, he did a firm nod.
"Let's depend on him once more, because if anyone can help her and reach out to her, it's Wei Wuxian. They have a deep bond, especially on his part. You could say he is even more overprotective of her than I am, and I truly believe his level of overprotection is greater.". Sect Leader Baihe said, Baihe Dong hummed.
"All the more reason to send her". He said.
"If Meigui stays here with her then she'll attempt another suicide, Youshi is disturbed by what she's done but it doesn't mean she won't go back to hurting her physically and mentally, she has to go". He said firmly.
"Yes, sir".
