Later that day
"30 bashes and to write the rules 20 times!? How unfair!". Li whined as she was being carried by Xinga, and me with A-Sang with permission from Lan Xichen, he was worried and wanted to make sure we were ok, so he tagged along.
"Then next time keep your temper in check, Shijie got punished too because of you". Xinga said.
"She started it though-".
"It doesn't matter! We were taught to disregard their words; they're insignificant. We've already caused Shijie enough trouble with father—just think of the punishment! And she was still healing from her injuries when she battled the Waterborne Abyss!". Xinga scolded, Li sighed.
"You should've seen the look on Brother Wuxian's face when he found out, he was not happy about it at all". Nie Huaisang said with a nervous sweat.
"That's enough, the issue is dropped". I spoke.
"Shijie, I'm sorry, I-".
"Li, should you step out of line again and cause Master Lan to summon me for even the slightest issue, I will send you home alone and administer my own punishment. My purpose here is to study, not to be reprimanded for your errors!". I warned firmly, she flinched at my tone.
'A-MeiMei can be scary sometimes, good thing I befriended her when I had the chance, she could help me out of things!'. A-Sang thought nervously.
"Y-Yes, Shijie, I understand, I'll behave from now on". She said as she hid her face in Xinga's shoulder.
"How's the girl from the Jin sect doing? Does anyone know?". A-Sang asked curiously.
"She'll be ok, I'm sending Xinga to heal her as an apology, Li is going to apologize as well for crossing the line". I said calmly, trying to ease the throbbing pain in my back, I was given an extra 10 because I didn't keep a better eye on her.
"Brother Jin wasn't too happy about it either when word got out, if Brother Wuxian or Brother Jiang hears him talking about you-".
"I hope they don't do nothing to prevent further conflict, things are already tense with Yanli being engaged to him-ah!". I hissed in pain.
"Ah! I'm sorry, I stepped in the ground that was hollow! I'll be more careful!". A-Sang apologized nervously, I sighed.
"It's fine, don't worry about it, it was an accident". I reassured.
"Where's Wei Wuxian and Jiang Wanyin?". Li asked.
"Brother Jiang is talking to him, he's been acting different lately since the Abyss incident". He said.
"I was told, I'm going to talk to him when I'm better". I said.
"I'll heal Shijie first-".
"What!?". Li said in protest.
"This was your fault, not Shijie's, woman up". She said plainly, I shook my head.
"Siblings, am I right?". I said in humor, A-Sang did a closed-eyed smile in response as they continued to bicker.
A few days later
At night
"Honestly, sneaking in alcohol is one thing but getting Lan Zhan dragged into it is something else, Hai ya". I said with a sigh, I got word that Wei Ying got himself into trouble again and Lan Zhan got caught up in it, both got punished already from what I heard.
