I was sleeping peacefully in my room when I was suddenly awakened by a commotion outside. Sitting up in alarm, I saw Baihe Dong enter, looking soaked and worried on his face. Confused, I frowned, wondering what was going on.
"Baihe Meigui! Forgive me for entering so late into the night!". He said urgently with a bow.
"Baihe Dong, what's going on? What's with all the noise?". I asked firmly.

"Assassins managed to enter the pavilion, no one was reported injured yet, but someone went missing...".
"Who did!?". I asked worriedly.
"Jiang Yanli".
"What!?". I said in shock as I got out of bed.
"We're searching for her now; your father has summoned you to their living quarters". He said, I immediately grabbed my sword and ran out of my room with him following close behind, about halfway I stopped when I saw something from the corner of my eye.
"What's wrong?". He asked, I walked into the rain and picked up her bell tassel.
"This is Yanli's, they must've come this way". I said, I looked around and saw a piece of her clothes not far away from where her bell was which made me suspicious of why these were here in the first place since Yanli's room was the other way and father from my room.
"She's making a trail so we can follow it". He said.
"They are trying to throw us off, Let's go!". I said, he nodded before we ran and followed her tail that she left behind which led into the forest, near the harbor.
'If they're assassins then why didn't they kill her right there and then? What's their motive? No, get answers later, my main priority is to save Yanli and bring her back safely'. I thought as I gripped my sword firmly, I skid to a stop which made him stop too, I closed my eyes and focused on the noise.
'Find the breathing, clothes rustling, distinct voices, footsteps on the ground, feelings, block out nature and animals... focus'. I thought to myself.
'Rustle, rustle'.
"Get moving you little bitch!". I heard, I turned my head sharply in that direction.
"Found them!". I said, he followed me in the said direction.
"I see them up ahead!". He said.
"Go get help, I got them!". I ordered.
"Understood, be careful!". He spoke.
"I will!". I said as I gripped my handle and shadow stepped in front of the man about to strike Yanli, everyone was surprised as I appeared in black smoke, I glared at the man before I took out my sword and slashed him deeply across his chest, he gasped in pain as he fell to the floor.
