Meigui pov

A few days later

After eating breakfast and getting dressed, I decided to walk around independently since Baihe Dong was discussing things with my father, and my servants were busy helping my mother, so it was just me in the early morning. I was at the pond, feeding the Koi fish as I softly hummed (Once Upon a December).

"May we join you?". Someone asked, I stopped and looked behind me and saw Jiang Wanyin and his sister Jiang Yanli.

'How did they find me?'. I thought curiously.

"I don't mind. Would you like to feed the Koi fish?". I said, she smiled and nodded as I gave her some food for the fish and began to feed them.

"I hope Wei Wuxian didn't embarrass himself or act rudely when you met". Jiang Wanyin said, I smiled.

"He certainly did not, rest assured. Though it started off a bit shaky, he managed to redeem himself, which was quite impressive, I must say". I said in humor, they sighed with relief.

"Thank goodness, A-xian is a bit of a troublemaker, but he means well, I'm glad you gave him a chance to show his true self to you after the first day when he ran off on you". Jiang Yanli said, I deadpanned.

'They're trying to put in a good word for him, so I'll like him better, they're so obvious'. I thought plainly.

"Did my mother write something bad about me in the letter?". I asked.

"Yes-".

"A-Cheng!". She said as she nudged him.

"It's to be expected, probably why they paired us. I'm more of a troublemaker than him, by a long shot". I said, they looked at me.

"You're not upset?". He asked.

"Oh yes, I'm filled with rage". I said with a smile as I threw food, they both sweatdropped nervously.

"You sure know how to hide it". He said in slight humor.

"Being angry isn't worth it; I may be upset, but I choose not to show it. It all comes down to self-control". I said truthfully.

"Your very wise, Baihe Meigui". She said.

"As the eldest, it's my responsibility to set a good example for my siblings, guiding them to stay on the right path and preparing them until they're old enough to make their own decisions. While they understand how to discern right from wrong, they often seek my advice when they need a second opinion on their problems". I said.

"As an elder sister, you would surely understand the point I'm making". I said, she hummed.

"I do, I understand clearly, I'm quite protective of my brothers as well and want what's best for them". She said.

"It's good to have a positive mindset, but as they will soon be grown adults, it's okay to let them get into trouble from time to time so that they can learn right from wrong. It's also okay to take a break and have time for yourself once in a while. Too much stress and worry aren't healthy". I said.

"That's what I've been telling her, she just doesn't listen-".

"A-Cheng!". She said with a small pout.

"Shijie". Zhi Ruo called, they looked as she bowed, I continued tossing food into the pond.

"What is it?". I asked.

"A letter has arrived for you, it's written urgent". She informed.

"Let me have it then". I said as I threw the rest of the food into the pond since there was only a little left, she came and handed me the letter after I dusted my hands.
