Meghan's POV:
"I just felt so bad," I told Bridget as we walked into English." I hate saying no to people but it just isn't right to date someone when I'm still hung up over Luke." I was explaining to her what happened over the weekend.

"How'd Connor take it? Was he mad?" She whispered so Connor couldn't hear from his seat on the other side of the room.

"He wasn't mad but I think he was hurt." I answered." Do you think he's mad?"

"Let's find out," Bridget said before turning in his direction." Hey Connor!" She waved. He gave her a nod and a small wave back." He looks fine."

"Then again you aren't the one who rejected him." I told her. When the bell rang, we took our seats and class began.

"Do you think I did the right thing? Breaking up with Luke?" I ask Bridget as we got dressed for practice.

Bridget sighed and looked at me in annoyance." Yes Meghan, you did the right thing. He cheated on you and you dumped him; doesn't matter if you love him or not because he hurt you. I really hate what he did, meghan I do, but I hate this state you're in even more; all the crying, moping, and second guessing it's all too much! Life will never just be sunshine and rainbows and I hate saying that but it's true! You deserve so much better than him and o wish you'd finally realize that! Maybe Connor will never make you as happy as Luke but I can sure as hell say that he will never hurt you! So yes meghan, you did the right thing then and I beg of you not to screw it up by going back to that son of a bitch!" With that she left the locker room.

I stood alone taking in everything she just said. Bridget was right and now I felt even worse for this whole thing.

I joined her in the gym and practice got started. During drills, all I could think about was what Bridget said.

When practice ended and the girls retreated to the locker room to gather their stuff, I pulled Bridget aside.

"You're right and I'm sorry." I told her." I need to move on and forget about what happened. Maybe even see if Connor wants to go out again."

"Thats more like it. I'm sorry for yelling but these past few months haven't been easy for me either. I hate seeing my best friend so heartbroken." Bridget replied." And if I forgot to mention, I beat Luke up that night after the concert for hurting you."

"Is He okay-" she gave me a look when I asked." Nevermind."

"Come on, your roommates are probably nearing a heart attack by now from wondering where you are." Bridget said as we headed out. We walked out together and when I got to my car, I saw Connor walking out of the school.

"Hey!" I called to him. He saw me and walked over slowly.

"Before you ask, no I'm not mad." Connor said when he came up to me.

"No, I wanted to say I'm sorry and wanted to know if you wanted to go out again." I asked." And I promise this isn't out of potty or guilt. I'd really like to go out again."

Connor tried to keep a straight face but couldn't help but crack a smile.

"I'd love to, Meghan." He said." I'll text you and we can plan something soon."

"You got it." I replied before getting into my car. I texted Bridget and told her that Connor and I are going to go out again before driving home.

"I'm home!" I called when I walked into the house.

"Hey kiddo," Jack said from the table." I made dinner so hope you're hungry."

"Oh? And what have you prepared Chef Gilinsky?" I asked, putting my stuff down onto the couch.

"Whole wheat spaghetti and that vegan chickpea white sauce you like with chopped broccoli, spinach, and onions." Jack explained." I also have chopped chicken but that's not for you."

"Sounds good. Can I also assume you or Jackjack went and picked up Olive Garden breadsticks?" I asked.

"Your assumptions are correct." He replied and held up an Olive Garden bag.

I grabbed a plate and began serving myself.

"How'd your date go yesterday? Sorry I didn't ask." He asked me as we began eating and Jackjack made himself a plate.

"Oh yeah. Did he treat you well?" Jackjack added.

"It went great, we're going out again soon." I told them.

"That's good. Are you starting to let go of luke? I know it's a touchy subject but I'm just wondering." Jack asked.

"Yeah, I am."
