The meeting hall was nearly empty when Alaina and Cathy walked in. After a few minutes there was no one else in the room except for themselves and the chief. Alaina kept a firm hand in Cathy's as she walked her across the marble floors to the end of the hall where the Chief stood.

Cathy's large eyes scanned the hall, remembering every bit of it. Alaina then realized that Cathy had never been in the meeting hall before. Alaina smiled down at the little girl and came to a sudden halt when she looked up, almost running into the Chief. Cathy continuing to walk, ran right into the Chief's legs. Alaina sucked in a breath and waited for the Chief to explode fury onto the little girl.

The Chief tuned around startled, looked down to see Cathy and smiled. She bent down to Cathy's hight and put a hand on her shoulder.

"So you're the famous Cathy." She said, her brown eyes sparkling. "I've heard a lot about you, dear. I heard that you remember everything! Is that true?"

Cathy gave a shy smile and hid behind her teddy bear. She peeked around it to look at the Chief. "Yes m'am" she says quietly, then hides again.

"That's amazing." Said the Chief. "Can you show me?"

Cathy shrugged her shoulders and smiled around her toy. "What do you have in mind?" She asks.

"Just a simple test." The Chief smiled. Cathy peeked over her toys head and nodded to the Chief. "So when I was young, about five I have a toy like this. Of course mine was an elephant no a teddy bear, and my elephant was purple."

Cathy laughed "Purple?"

"Yes." The Chief smiled. "I have had that toy for a long time. My mother gave it to me. Where did you get your's?"

Cathy pointed up at Alaina. "She gave it to me. When it was storming. Not the last time, but the time before. I was scared and crying, so Alaina crawled into bed next to me, and gave me this." Cathy's eyes danced with happiness. "She stayed with me all night. Even when the storm ended. She made sure I was ok. She is like my big sister!"

Alaina smiled down at Cathy, that was how Alaina felt too. She felt responsible for Cathy, and she always wanted to make sure she was happy.

The Chief continued to smile. "That's lovely." She looked up towards Alaina. "You must care for this little one a lot."

Alaina shrugged "Well I just uh....and I um...."

"She does!" Cathy butts in.

The Chief raises her eyebrows "oh really?" She says "How so?"

Alaina tried to get Cathy's eye to tell her to shut up, but the little girl only smiled and continued to talk.

Cathy started to count on her fingers after setting down her bear. "Well, she gives me parts of her food, she tucks me in, she cleans my boo-boos, she plays with me, she teaches me things, and lots of other stuff I can remember but I think she wants me to shut my mouth." Cathy shrugs her shoulders and smiles. Alaina let out a breath. Cathy hasn't told the Chief about her secret.

"Is that all?" The Chief asks "Wow she must love u a lot."

Cathy nods her head. "Yes'm. She does she told me so. I remember it well. She tells me every night. She says 'Ok Cat. Time for bed' then she gives me a kiss and says 'sleep tight my little one. Remember I only love two things in the world: you and-"

Alaina slapped her hand over Cathy's mouth. Chief looks startled and glares up at Alaina. Alaina give a nervous laugh. "Ha ha. Her and her chatter."

Cathy licks Alaina's hand causing her to release the girl in disgust. Cathy smiles up at Alaina shyly as she wipes the younger girl's spit off her hand. The chief then looks back to Cathy.

"Continue dear." The Chief says "She loves you and what else?"

Cathy looked from Alaina to the Chief. Then back and forth again. Cathy picks up her teddy bear and examines its torn ear. Eventually, she looks back up at the Chief.

"It's funny." Says Cathy. "I think I've finally forgotten something."
