Alaina had to stop and look at a servant's map to find room 427, but she did find it. The door was white, like the rest of the doors in the hallway but this one was elegant, with swirling designs on it. Alaina set down the water bucket and basket with the window cleaner in it, then knocked on the door.

After a few seconds of silence she knocked again. She got the same results. With a shrug she pushed the door open and recollected her cleaning supplies before entering the room.

She stepped into a large room with floor to ceiling windows on one wall and dark blue on the others. There was a king size bed with a grey bed spread and grey pillows, along with dark green furniture. On one of the walls was a large projector with several games spread over a coffee table in front of it. Alaina picked up a game and gazed over the cover.

"'Moon Wars?'" She read aloud. "What the heck is that?"

"It's a futuristic game set around a war in the galaxy." Said a male voice behind her.

Alaina spun around dropping the game. Behind her stood a boy in black sweat pants, with dark brown hair and eyes. He was smirking at her.

'Wow. He is cute.' She thought.

"Mostly it's just about fighting people with light swords and blowing up ships." The boy continued. "Sounds boring but it's pretty fun." The boy picked up a grey t-shirt from the back of a chair and pulled it over his head.

'Even his style is cute.' Alaina sighed in her head. 'Wait a second! Stop that!'

Alaina shook her head, regaining her thoughts and did a small curtsy. "My apologize." She said not looking the boy in the eye. "I didn't think anyone was in here."

The boy shrugged. "I was in the shower."

Alaina smiled at the ground and reached for the basket. "Again, my apologize. I will come back later."

"No that's fine." The boy said "I'll help you."

The boy rushed over to help Alaina, but he tripped over the bucket she had, spilling water everywhere, then he slipped on the water, knocking over the basket. The window cleaner flew onto the table and landed with a thud. The boy reached up his hand to try and get up, but squeezed the window cleaner by accident, spraying window cleaner in Alaina's eyes.

"Ow!" She exclaimed taking a few steps back and rubbing her eyes.

"I am so sorry." The boy told her finally standing. "Let me help you."

"No." Alaina said, trying to open her eyes. "I'm fine, I'll just leave and come back to clean this mess later."

Alaina took a step forward ran into the boy's muscular chest, slipped on the water and fell into the chair the basket had just occupied. Alaina stood up again and felt her way around the boy, and the couch, moving towards the door. She reached the door-by running into it.

"Ow!" She cried again, falling back onto the floor. "Damn door."

"Let me help you." The boy insisted again.

"I'm fine." Alaina assured him, standing to her feet again.

"Here-" the boy grabbed her hand and lead her to a steamy room.

He helped Alaina sit on what felt like a counter and handed her a warm rag to wipe away the cleaner. Alaina started to wipe her eyes but the pain got worse.

"Let me." The boy took the rag in one hand and Alaina's face in the other. "Like this."

He gently dabbed the warm rag on Alaina's eyes, taking the cleaner away. Alaina gratefully opened her eyes and stared at the boy. On the counter she was about half a head taller then the boy was.

'He is even more beautiful up close.' Alaina thought.

Alaina could see small freckles dotted across his cheek bones and nose. Not so much that they would be noticeable far away, only the kind that you could see if you were really close to him. Alaina could smell the strong smell of soap on the boy, and she felt butterflies in her stomach just looking at his dark eyes. Alaina suddenly realized how close she was to him. How her hand was pressed on his shoulder for balance and his hand still lingered on her quickly reddening cheek.

"Thank you." Alaina said. "You didn't have to do that."

The boy, noticing the close space as well removed his hand and stepped away from Alaina. "No problem," he croaked. "I couldn't just let you stumble around the halls. You could have ended up in the guard's locker room or something."

Alaina stared at the boy then laughed. "I never thought of it that way." She giggled. "I guess you are right."

The boy blushed a little and held out his hand. "Nice to meet you. I'm Alexander."

Alaina took the his hand. "Hi, I'm Alain-I mean" Alina stuttered "Hi I'm Nikki." Alaina smiled and squeezed Alexander's hand.

"Ow! You got quiet the grip." Alexander laughed. "You don't look like Nikki."

"What?" Alaina exclaims.

"I knew Nikki. We were friends." Alexander explains. "So who, if I may ask are you?"

Alaina stared at Alexander "Uh..." Was all she could pull together.

"It's cool." Alexander says.

"It-it-it is?" Alaina asks.

"Yeah!" Alexander exclaims "you don't want to tell me. It's cool."

"It is?" Alaina raised one eyebrow and smirked at Alexander.

"Yea." Alexander laughed. "I'll just find you a nickname." Alexander smiled up at Alaina.

"A nickname?" Alaina giggled. "You barley know me."

"It's a good thing I'm only seventeen. That means I got time." He winked at Alaina and stepped out of the bathroom.

Alaina jumped off the counter and fallowed him into the main room. Alexander bent down and started to pick up the water on the floor.

"No, Alexander," Alaina bent down. "Let me do it." Alaina grabbed a towel from under the coffee table and started to wipe up the water.

"You don't have to do everything." Alexander grabbed a towel himself and started on the water.

"Actually, I do." Alaina says. "It's my job."

Alexander laughs and takes the towel from Alaina's hands. He smirks up at her as he gets on his hands and knees, continuing to wipe up the water. Alaina bent down to take the towels back from him, but he pulled them back from her grasp.

"No, no." He smiled "You clean everyday. You sit, relax. I'll clean my mess."

Alaina shrugged, then stood up, and sat on the couch. She watched as Alexander finished wiping up the water, and putting cloths into the basket. He then went to clean the windows. He looked at the cleaner then to the window then back. Alaina giggled then crossed her legs, relaxing her arm across the back of the couch.

"Do you need help?" Alaina asked causally.

Alexander looked back at her "No, it's ok, I got it." He replied.

"Oh, in that case, continue." Alaina sat back some more and watched as he turn back to the window.

After a few more minutes of Alexander trying to figure out how to use the window cleaner, Alaina got off the couch. She picked up an extra rag she had brought and walked over to him. She took the cleaner from him, despite his rejections. She pointed the cleaner at the window, looked at Alexander and sprayed the window. She then started to wipe down the window with the rag.

When she finished she looked back at Alexander who was looking at his shoes slightly red. She giggled slightly then went back to the coffee table, collected her things and went back to the door.

Alaina paused at the door "I think I found a nickname for you." She said.

Alexander looked over his shoulder from the window at her. "What's that?" He smirked.

"Alexander the Clumsy." Alaina laughed.

Alexander chuckled back. "I like it." He said "Call me Alex."
