Alaina had ran through most of the hall ways looking for Alex. Eventually she had just guessed that he was still in his room. She then ran from the east wing to the west, trying not to run over to many people. When she finally skid to a stop in front of Alex's door, she was nearly out of breath.

"Please be here." She breathed. She raised her hand to knock on the door, but the door knob moved.

Alaina jumped back in surprise as the door opened. Alex stood at the door and angry look on his face. He hasn't noticed Alaina yet and was looking back into his room.

"No." He was saying. "Look, you really should go. I have things to do."

From inside his room a girl with dark hair and icy blue eyes appeared. She was smiling up at him sweetly, messing with a black ribbon that was around the waist for her cream colored dress.

"I don't see what I did wrong?" She said innocently. "It was his fault."

"I don't care who's fault it was." Alex demanded. "It shouldn't have happened!"

The girl wrapped her arms around Alex's neck making him turn farther into the room. "But baby-" the girl finally noticed Alaina standing behind Alex and smiled. "We have compony, dearest."

Alex tore the girl's arms away from him and turned to see Alaina. Alaina stood staring at the two, fighting to explode and smack the other girl.

"Oh! Hello again." Alex smiled. "This isn't what it looks like I promise." Alex reached over and pulled the door open farther. "Please, come in. Have a seat."

The girl looked at Alex shocked "Alexander, darling, I don't
think-"

"You shut your mouth." Alex hissed. "Get out."

The girl made a huffing sound then gracefully walked from the room. When she passed Alaina she gave her a death glare. Alaina returned the glare but this one was more of superiority. The girl continued her graceful walk down the hall and around the corner.

"Well, she is quiet a character." Alaina giggled. "Your admirer?"

Alex smiled and looked at his shoes. "My fiancé actually."

All the life seemed to drain out of Alaina "Fiancé?" She asked.

"Yea," Alex sighed "but don't worry about it." He stepped back to invite Alaina inside his room but she declined.

"I wouldn't feel right after, uh, that." Alaina explained.

"I said we were engaged." Alex said "not that I was happy about it. Come on, it's no big deal. Like you said, I barley know you anyway."

Alaina smiled and walked into the room, collapsing onto the light green couch. Alex fallowed her to the couch and sat beside her. He smiled down at her, now he was the tall one.

"Guessing by the way you came and sat on my couch, you're not here to get my laundry." Alex laughed.

"Not this time darling." Alaina said mocking the girl who was just in the room with Alex. "Who was that chick anyway? She is crazy."

"You said it." Alex sighed leaning back and throwing his arms lazily over the back of the couch.

"Does crazy-pants have a name? Or should I just called her Madam Stuck-up?" Alaina asked sarcastically.

"Her name is Rose." Alex tells her. "She is from another country. My father wants to 'united our countries through marriage.'" Alex made air quotes around the last words.

"So you have to marry her." Alaina asks concerned. "You don't have a choice."

"My father only cares about getting more land, expanding his power." Alex explains. "He doesn't care what his children want."

"So, your father is high up in power?" Alaina asked curious.

"You could say that." Alex chuckled "Any way, you came for a reason?"

"Yeah!" Alaina remembered her reason for coming. "I need your help."

"I got that far on my own, thanks." Alex said sarcastically.

Alaina gave a nervous laugh. "Right. Anyway. I was summoned for dinner and I need something to wear." Alaina explained.

"Hey my closet is all your's, but I doubt you will find something that fits you." Alex replied.

"Actually, a dress would be nice." Alaina said. "Thanks for the offer."

Alaina got off the couch and went towards Alex's closet. She threw open the doors and walked inside. She walked up and down the rows of cloths laughing. Alex leaned on the door frame lazily smiling at her.

"Oh! What are these?" Alaina pulled down a pair of man-footies with several trucks on it. "How cute." Alaina laughed.

"Those were a gift." Alex told her.

"Course, and these." Alaina motioned to a pair of pink bunny slippers.

"Um.." Alex's dark eyes darted around the closet.

"Exactly." Alaina smirked. She turned to a door inside the closet. "Ooo! Secret door! I wonder? Maybe your dollies?"

Alex rushed forward and stopped Alaina from opening the door. Alaina smirked up at him.

"Oooo!" Alaina laughed "I'm right! Let me see Alexander Junior!" She reached for the knob and opened the door a crack.

Alex pushed the door closed and smiled down at Alaina. "Underwear space actually. Very private." Alaina laughed. "But I do know somewhere we can go to get you a dress."

"Where?" Alaina smiled.

"This way." Alex grabbed Alaina's hand and dragged her out of the closet, through the room, down several hallways, and finally into another bedroom."Here." Alex said in triumph.

"Who's room is this?" Alaina asked looking around the extremely plain room.

"Doesn't matter." Alex replied as he nodded towards a closet door. "Look in there."

Alaina walked over to the door and threw it open. Alaina looked inside and gasped. Inside the smaller closet was a single black dress, shoes and pearls.

"Wow." Alaina whispered.

"My mother's." Alex breathed into Alaina's ear.

She jumped and stepped away from Alex. "It's beautiful." She admitted.

"You want to try it on?" Alex asked.

"Are you serious?" Alaina smiled.

"Dead serious." Alex laughed "You did say you needed something to
wear."

"But it's your mother's." Alaina declined "Won't she mind?"

"If the dead rouse from there graves, maybe." Alex said gazing at the dress.

Alaina stepped towards Alex and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Alex, I'm so sorry."

"It's life." He replied. He continued to gaze at the dress, then turned to Alaina "Go put on that dress before someone finds us in here and gets the wrong idea."
