Chapter Six

"Let's break up." Taemin says. You were just about to say something, but he puts one hand up and continues. "We're just not right for each other. All we've done in the past few weeks is argue and make up. I clearly haven't been treating you right. And for all I know, you could still be two timing with me and that Park Jimin."

His last sentence makes you really angry.

"Why does it always come back to this? I never cheated on you. We've already gone over this, and I have never done anything with Jimin. We're just work friends. Stop assuming that I am cheating on you. How long will it take you to realize that you're just assuming everything and screwing up our relationship? You're so fixated on your, I don't know, theory that I'm dating Jimin behind you back, where's your proof? You don't have any."

"That's exactly why WE aren't working. I don't know where it went wrong, but I can't seem to trust you anymore. I'm saying we break up. You can use my bathroom to clean up. Then get going."

"Fine. We're done. But know that I'm not a prostitute you can order around." You say, taking your purse from out of his hands. You walk out of the door to his bedroom, shoving him aside.

You leave his apartment building behind for good, going back to your own.

It's like the second you walk inside your home, reality hits.

You fall onto your couch and you cry, burying your face into a cushion there.

Absent-mindedly, you check your phone every few minutes, almost expecting a call or a few texts from Taemin, apologizing for what happened.

But they never came.

Stop.

We're done.

He's not going to call you.

You reach for your phone to make a call.

"Chaeyoung unnie." you manage to get as much out before your sobs take over.

"Y/N? What's wrong? What happened?" she says worriedly. You can't seem to get the words to form, "Y/N, I'm coming over right now. Don't go anywhere, don't do anything stupid." She quickly says before hanging up.

She uses the spare key under the doormat to let herself in.

She comes in holding a big bag.

"Y/N! What happened? Who hurt you like this, hmm?" Chaeyoung asks, tossing your cushion aside and wrapping you in a hug.

"T-taemin. He found out. A-and we're over." More tears spill down your face after saying that, and bury your face into her chest.

"Shhh, it's gonna be ok. He doesn't deserve someone as amazing as you, Y/N. Cry it all out right now. But then later, don't cry about it again. He's not worth all your tears. Do you want to give him the satisfaction of knowing that he can hurt you this easily?" she says softly, rubbing your back. You shake your head as an answer to her question.

"Come on, I brought snacks over." Chaeyoung says, taking out packets of chips from her bag.

"Shouldn't you go back? It's late."

"I don't have to. I can stay here tonight. I already told Lisa I might stay over here."

~~~~~~~~~~
"Poor Y/N, she must be devastated."
Your head snaps up when you hear your name being mentioned as you walk into the makeup room.
But the second you step in, the whole room suddenly goes silent.
"What's wrong? Why is everyone suddenly so quiet?" you ask.
"Y/N. You're here." Jimin says, walking over to you, "Are you feeling ok?"
Confused, you just tilted your head sideways.
"What do you mean?" you ask.
"Early this morning, Lee Taemin told everyone that he broke up with you." he said. It's real. We're done. The whole world knows. We've over. The corners of your eyes stung. Tears threatened to spill out. Chaeyoung's words echoed in your mind: Cry it all out right now. But then later, don't cry about it again. He's not worth all your tears. You tried to stop your tears, but they just wouldn't stop.
With all the cameras around, anyone of them could be filming, so Jimin uses his back to cover you.
To anyone else, it would look like he was hugging you.
Or he was just standing really close to you.
Seeing that you aren't feeling the best, he grabs you by your wrist and leads you out.
"Namjoon hyung, could you say if you can push the photoshoot to later this afternoon." he tells your manager.
He brings you to one of the empty meeting rooms and sits you down on a chair.
Crouching down, he grabs a nearby tissue box and dabs at the corners of your eyes.
"Sorry, I shouldn't have mentioned that in front of everyone." Jimin apologizes.
"No, it's ok. I wouldn't have found out otherwise and it could've been worse."
"Still, I'm sorry." You nod, accepting his apology.
After a while, he speaks up.
"You know, if you want to talk, or if you need someone to talk to, I could be that person for you. I'm here for you, Y/N."
For some reason, after he said that, everything spilled out.
You told him everything, even the smallest details that might be unnecessary.
Maybe it was because you wanted to talk to someone who didn't know you as well.
Or maybe it was because he was someone who wouldn't judge you for the way you feel.
By then, your crying has stopped.
After, you told him something that you've never told anyone. Not your family. Not even Chaeyoung.
"To be honest, I don't really know why I started dating him. I really don't know. I even gave him my... my first time. We were friends before that, but when he asked me out, a part of me just couldn't reject me. I don't know why. In the beginning, I don't think I really liked him as a lover back then. It was more like...I fell for him overtime. But I think right now, it hurts more that I've lost a friend, rather than the breakup itself. Does that make sense?"
"Yeah. It does."
