Chapter One

"I have somewhere to be later, so I should get going. It was fun chatting with you guys." you pause. "Thank you everyone for your support. I love you, bye!" You wave at the camera before shutting off your live.

This will probably be your last comeback live at YG Entertainment. YG was too strict with your freedom to your liking. It was six years into your contract before they allowed you to date.

Your seven-year contract is over in less than two weeks, and you've already received quite some offers from other companies. None of them caught your eye. You were looking for something different, an unique opportunity to try something new, not just another seven years locked into a company.

You scroll through your phone for any recent news, nothing new or interesting, except more speculation about which company you were going to sign with.

Just when you were about to put your phone down, you saw a site that said you were signing with HYBE Cooperation. It's a wonder how rumours can form and take flight so fast.

Although you have to admit, signing with HYBE would be nice. You've always wanted to collaborate with Park Jimin, and YG has unfortunately turned down all the offers. You hear a knock at your door.

"Y/N?" Jisung, your manager calls from outside the door.

"You can come in. The live has ended."

"A few more contract offers came in earlier this afternoon."

"Oh? From who?"

"There was one from RBW Entertainment, another from Fantagio Entertainment..." he trails off and flips through his notebook. "These are all pretty good offers, I must say."

"Is there anything special in their contracts?"

"Not from RBW and Fantagio. Oh yeah, if I remember correctly, there was something from HYBE Cooperation." he paused, you light up at the name. "Bang Si Hyuk PD says he would like to meet with you to discuss about it. He says he wants to try something new with you if you're interested."

"Alright, schedule an appointment with him." You requested.

"I'll do that." He says writing a note down for himself. He glances at the clock before saying, "We should get going for your comeback stage." And you followed him out to the car.

Your phone dings in the car ride. A message from your boyfriend.

Taemin: Hey baby, your performance starts at 5, right?

You: Yep! Will you be there?

Taemin: Of course!

Taemin: I'll definitely be there for your comeback stage 😘

You: Ok, see you backstage 🥰

Taemin: Fighting!

After finishing your comeback stage, you walk into the backstage, looking around for Taemin. You hear congratulations and praises from your staff, and half-mindedly thanked them for their support and hard work, but you were more focused on finding your boyfriend in the crowded area.

"Y/N!"

"Taemin?"

"You did great! I'm so sorry I didn't get to say hi before you went on stage. My meeting ran late and I rushed here as soon as I could. I was here for your whole performance, I swear!"

"It's ok, I understand." Although you have to admit, you were a bit disappointed in the beginning.

"Come on, I'll treat you to dinner tonight." he says. "Have you chosen which company you're signing with yet?"

"Sorry, I can't do tonight. I'm meeting up with Chaeyoung unnie. About the contracts no, not yet. But I am meeting with Bang PD later this week to talk about that," you softly smile at him.

"You sure you don't want SM? You'll get to see me at work everyday," he teases.

"As much as I'd love that, you know what I'm looking for, and that's not what SM is offering me. Don't worry, whoever I sign with, it's not going to affect our relationship." you say to him sweetly, then tippy toeing to kiss his cheek.

"Alright Y/N, I trust you."

You walk into the restaurant that you usually go to when meeting up with friends, and you see Chaeyoung at your usual spot, waiting for you.

"Unnie!" you call out, and she looks up from her phone.

"Hi Y/N! Did you do a good job on stage?" she asks.

"Yes, eomma" you tease her. Chaeyoung unnie is like an older sister to you. You two got close with each other well during your trainee days at YG Entertainment, until you debuted as soloist. After she debuted with Blackpink, you hung out with her more. Now, she's like your best friend.

"Mm alright. I ordered your usual already, so you wouldn't have to wait too long."

"Thanks." You say, just before the food arrives.

"So... HYBE?" Chaeyoung asks.

"How'd you know?"

"Just guessing. I heard they offered you something special." she says while wiggling her eyebrows at you. "Tell me."

You briefly explain the situation to her. 

"Soon you'll be the one deciding. Would you renew with YG?" you added.

"Honestly, I don't know yet. I still have two years to think. This is what I'm leaning towards right now; I want to continue to be with Blackpink, but if the other members aren't interested, then I will probably sign with someone else." she concludes, letting out a sigh.

"Well, good thing I don't have a group that relies on me. When your time comes, good luck deciding. It's harder than it seems."
