Chapter Nine

"Chaeyoung unnie?" you say, spotting your friend unexpectedly. You went outside for a short walk around the HYBE building because you had some free time to spare.

"Y/N!" she exclaims.

"What are you doing here?" you ask.

"I have time off, so I came to visit you. I miss you." she says, wrapping you into a hug.

"It hasn't been that long..." She rolls her eyes at you.

"How are you holding up? You know, after Taemin?" she asks.

"I'm doing fine for now. I've been keeping myself busy with other things." you reply, smiling a bit.

"That's good. You know, when you smile like that, you look a little like Jisoo unnie. Just a random thought."

"Well, you're not the first one to tell me that."

"Oh right, I have something to show you." She pulls out her phone and you lean in you see as she scrolls around. She shows you a picture of... "Here. Who is he? You two look quite close."

You squint a bit and realize what the picture was. Someone took a picture of you and Jin. At the bar that night. A shot of him whispering words at you ear.

"Oh, that's Jin. He was just...someone I met at a bar. Why? Where did you get this from?" Worried, you pull out your phone to see if the images are circulating online.

"A friend of mine also happened to be at that bar the same time you were. She asked me if this was you, that's all."

You let out a sigh of relief and tuck you phone back into your pocket. 

You didn't even want to imagine what would've happened if a paparazzi got hold of photos like this.

"By any chance...do you have his number?" she turns away, cheeks flushed. Probably from the heat. you thought.

You must've given her a weird look, because she said, "I just...feel like I've seen him somewhere before, that's all." she says, biting her lower lip. 

Lies. 

To anyone else, that might've seemed like it's the truth. But you know her well enough to know that's the opposite. 

Why would she want Jin's number...especially when she doesn't seem to know him?

"Huh." you say. You pull out a slip of paper that is slightly crumpled and hand it to her. While you were leaving Jimin's place, he slipped it into your hands. "Here. I don't even know why he gave this to me..."

"Thanks Y/N!" she says, gleefully.

"Unnie, I should go now, I've been out here for long enough."

"Ok, bye. You should come visit us soon." She waves and you walk back towards the direction of your building.

"Y/N, where did you go?" Jimin asks when you enter into the building.

"I went for a quick walk outside." you say, smiling at him.

"Ah, Namjoon hyung was trying to find you. He said he wanted to talk to you about something."

"Ok, I'll go find him now. Thanks for telling me, Jimin."

You walk through the maze of HYBE building and find Namjoon standing outside of his office.
