Chapter Twenty

"I have a feeling that he approached you because of Jisoo." Chaeyoung says.

"Wait what? Why?" you ask, confused.

"I mean, I could be wrong, but it's not impossible that he went for you because you do look like Jisoo in a way... Ahh I don't know how to explain this." she pauses before continuing, "If someone looks at you with Jisoo in mind, you two can look alike." Chaeyoung finally says.

You do remember that people have said that, but...Jin approaching you just because you look like her? It made you feel a little betrayed.

That does explain why he wasn't surprised at all and showed no reaction when he knew you were a celebrity. You thought it was because he literally works for one, but working for a famous idol and fucking one is two really different things. That does explain part of it...

You check your phone, and right then, you saw that message Jin left for you.

Jin: But...can we...still be friends?

Hesitantly, you show Chaeyoung that last message. 

"Call him. Ask him why he approached you that night." she says.

"Ok."

You made sure to not click on the message, but instead, swipe the notification away, so that you won't accidentally click into it. You don't want him to know that you saw his message and still haven't replied.

You call his number, and he picks it up on the fourth ring.

"Y/N?"

"Hi Jin." you start, before realizing that you didn't know how to start this conversation. It would be weird if you called him out of nowhere and just ask why did you approach me that night.

Chaeyoung reaches for your phone and puts the call on speaker so that she can hear what he says.

"Um is something wrong?" Jin asks on the other side of the line. 

"Oh no I was just calling because..." you trail off, trying to stall enough time for your brain to think of something to say. "I wanted to see if you were, you know, ok with me cutting us off like that."

"Is that all? I mean, yeah you have your reasons for doing that and I don't want to be caught in a scandal with you and your boyfriend and all that. I am a little disappointed but I'm fine. Really." He continues to speak, but you don't hear him. Chaeyoung mouths something to you, but you failed to pick up what she was saying.

"Y/N? Are you still there?" you suddenly hear. 

"Oh yeah, I'm here. Sorry, what were you saying?" you quickly say.

"How are things with your boyfriend?" he asks again.

"There's good. We get along well." you answer.

Chaeyoung wrote something on a sticky note and now showed it to you.

It reads: ask him now. say you're just curious

"Um I have a question. I hope I'm not prying or anything but remember that first night at the bar? Why did you choose me? I'm just curious, that's all." 

There was a moment of silence on his side of the line. You almost thought he wasn't going to answer your question.

"You... you looked like a girl I really loved." he confessed.

You whipped your head at Chaeyoung's direction. She was right. It was because of Jisoo.

"Do you...still love her?" you ask hesitantly, hoping he wouldn't get suspicious at that question.
