"There's...history between us and Jin. Us as in me, the other members of Blackpink, and Jin." Chaeyoung says.

"What do you mean by that?" you ask, feeling a mix of surprise and confusion.

"Around the time when the four of us knew that we were going to be on the debut team for sure, but before actually debuting, Jin dated one of us." she continues.

"Who?"

"Jisoo unnie. They dated behind YG's back. We all knew that if they ever found out, unnie and Jin would be forced to break up. Or she would be kicked off of the debut team. We all knew that. But at that time, they really liked each other. Me and Jennie unnie helped them hide it and cover up for them."

"What about Lisa?"

"We didn't want to get her involved in this mess. She tried so hard to be an idol, we didn't want to ruin this opportunity for her. She knew about it, but at that time, not in detail. They continued to date for around a year after our debut."

"How long were they together?" you ask.

"I'm not sure of the exact time, but probably around two years, give or take."

"What...does this have to do with you? Other than you helping them cover up."

"I was the reason they broke up." Chaeyoung admits, her head hanging down. It seems like she still beats herself up over it nowadays. "If it weren't for me, maybe they would still be together right now. They might even be married by now."

"But...how? I mean, everything you said, they're just ifs. You never know what's going to happen." you say, hoping to comfort her, even if it's just a little.

"There was a weekend where we got a break, so I was drinking with the other girls. Jisoo unnie invited Jin over and he came and drank with us. I got drunk and I didn't remember what happened, but Jennie told me that I was getting touchy with Jin on the balcony and Jisoo saw. I really didn't mean to. I don't even know what happened. At that time, I knew I liked him. But I stayed away on purpose because I didn't want to affect Jisoo unnie's relationship. But I got careless one night and Jisoo blamed it on Jin, and the next thing I knew, one argument led to another, and then Jisoo broke up with him. And because I was trying so hard to distance myself from Jin, YG became suspicious of their relationship and eventually, because of me, they broke up."

"No, it's not your fault." you say to your friend. By now, there were little tears forming at the corners of Chaeyoung's eyes, some of them rolling down her cheeks. You grab a tissue nearby and gently dab at them. You sit there and allow her to say everything she's been holding to herself.

"She said the same thing too. What made it hardest was that she never blamed me. She said it was all Jin's fault, but that made it worse. At least if she got mad at me, I could've, I don't know, taken responsibility for it or something. But she blamed it all on Jin and then they broke up. But then if I wasn't there, or if I was more careful, they would still be together now."

"Did you...stay in contact with Jin afterwards?"

"No, we basically cut all ties with each other. I asked you for his number because I haven't seen him in a long time and I really wanted to know how he was doing and all that. I...missed him." Chaeyoung admits.

She looks up at you before continuing to speak.

"I got mad at you because I couldn't understand why when you didn't like him, you can have him, but while I've liked him all along, I couldn't do anything about it. I was frustrated with myself and I took it out on you. I'm sorry."

"No, it's really ok. I don't blame you for it," you reply softly.

"I wanted to get to know him again, but I was scared that Jisoo wouldn't like it."

"But...do you still like him?" you ask.

"Yeah. I think I still do."

"Then you should go for him." you suggest.

"B-but I-" Chaeyoung stutters.

"Give me a reason other than Jisoo." you challenge.

"I- Do you really think I should?"

"But unnie, why not? Jisoo and Jin broke up over 4 years ago. Why can't you go for him? It's not like Jisoo still likes him..."

"I guess you're right."

How should I tell her about me and Jimin?

Would it be wrong to tell her now?

But what if she finds out another way? I don't want another misunderstanding...

"Chaeyoung unnie." you say, breaking the silence.

"Hmm?"

"I don't know if this is right time to say this...but..." you say, still unsure of your decision.

"What? If it's important, just tell me."

Taking a deep breath, you tell her, "Jimin and I are dating."

"REALLY? SINCE WHEN?" she says, basically squealing.

"It's been almost two weeks."

"I knew it! I knew Jimin likes you!" she says, clearly very happy for you. "How did he ask you out?"

"Erm...he found out about me and Jin, and then he got jealous and blurted out a confession."

"So he didn't mean to confess?" she says, seeming a little disappointed.

"NO! I mean, the day after, he set up this really sweet thing for me because he said he regretted confessing like that. He said he wanted it to be more special." You continue to describe what he did for you that day.

"Aww you guys are so cute together." Your cheeks redden at her words. Or maybe it was because you were thinking about your date with him. "Ooh Y/N's blushing too!"

"Shut up," you say, covering your face.

"So did you two...you know...do it yet?" she asks, a big teasing smile on her face.

"YAH!" You shove her onto the bed playfully, tackling her. "We haven't even been together for that long!"

"Fine! Have you held hands yet?" One look at your face and she knew the answer to that.

She lies on her back, laughing really hard.

After some more fooling around with Chaeyoung, she suddenly looked serious again.

"Oh yeah, there was something I wanted to tell you but I just remembered..." she says.

"Huh? What is it?" you ask.

"Remember when Jin approached you at that bar? The very first time you guys met?"

"Yeah..." you say, not sure where this conversation is going.

"He was the one who came up to you, right?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"I have a feeling that he approached you because of Jisoo."
