*Knock Knock*

"Taliyah, baby we need to get on the road." My mom knocked on my door. Today we were leaving to move to Virginia.

I sighed and rolled onto my side. I don't want to leave Atlanta. I mean it's great that my mom got a new better paying job, but everything I know is here. My family. my best friend. My "friendly" studs. God I hope they have some fine girls in Virginia.

I sighed again, fixing my bonnet around my head. Sitting up I looked around my room. We packed the Uhaul last night so only my last minute stuff was left in here.

I brushed my teeth then took a shower. I decided that since I was going to be in the car for 8 and half hours to wear something comfy.

I ran downstairs after putting my shoes on and grabbing my bag. My mom was helping my twin little sisters finish packing their road snacks. I fed my baby pug, Cookie.

My mom got her for me to cushion the blow of telling me we were leaving. I knew something was up because I had been telling her I wanted one for years and she had always said no. Then out the cut she just got me a pug? I just knew she had something going on.

"Taliyah you have a visitor" my mom said when she saw me.

I walked to the front porch to be greeted by my friend Lila and my "friend" Ro.

"Hey guys" I said giving them each a hug.
"Hey bae" Ro said letting her hands lower to my ass.
" I can't believe you're really leaving us," Lila said wiping her eyes.
"Yea I know. But it's okay guys we can still FaceTime and we can like meet up over break and stuff" I said trying to keep Lila from crying cause if she started crying, then I would cry and it would all be a mess.

"Yea you're right" she said
We sat on the front steps for ten minutes before my little sister Skye came.

"Mom said you have to say bye to your friends so we can get on the road." She said and ran off.

"Well I guess this is it." I said standing
I hugged Lila and she squeezed me so tight I thought she was gonna break my ribs.

"Yea I guess" Ro said and hugged me. She rocked us a little and kissed my neck.
"Bye" I said as they got into Ro's car and drove off.

"Alright kids let's get in the road" mom said.
The twins got in the very back of my moms Tahoe and I got in the front with Cookie on the floor between my legs. We were driving for about forty five minutes when my mom took an exit off the highway. I didn't pay her no mind and just kept listening to my music.

We pulled into an apartment complex and I sat up and took my headphones out.

"Ma what we doin?" I asked her getting confused
"Come help me get their stuff"
"Who stuff??" I asked but she was already out the car.

My mom knocked on the door and my older sister opened it. I was surprised because I hadn't seen her in like three years.

"Hey mom. Hey Liyah" she said
"Hey darling" my mom said and glared at me when I didn't respond

"Hi Jalyn" I breathed out

"All packed up and ready?" Mom asked
"Holdup you said packed up and ready to goooo??" I said

"Yes your sister is coming to Virginia with us" my mom said

"Huh! Whyyy are you just now telling me this?"
"I am grown Taliyah I don't have to explain myself to you. And watch yo damn tone"

"I'm sorry ma, I just feel like this is something I should have known about. You know how things happened last time Jalyn lived with us."

"We will all talk about that later okay" my mom sighed.
"Okay" I nodded
"Are you ready to go?" Mom asked Jalyn
"Yea I'm just gonna put Nani in the car."
" who??" I asked
A few moments later, she came back holding a little girl on her hip.
"Who baby is that?" I asked scrunching up my face.
"Mine" she said "can you help get the car seat.
"Yours??" I asked tryna put the car seat in the seat.
