As it was getting dark, his fiery hair flared up to allow him to get a look over his steps.
Upon arriving at his destination, Fire Spirit sat down and looked over the view. Over the full moon, bright and magnificent as always. Over the night sky, showing off one or two venturous stars. Over the tranquil undine just underneath. He also listenned, as the wind would ruffle against the leaves. And he closed eyes, enjoying the peace and quiet the elementals could bring. But he better not forget about himself, or else, the flames surrounding his head would burn the entire land out.
Such a landscape sure was intriguing to him ! It was outside of his usual dry and volcanic earths, like he knew back at the Dragon's Valley. He was starting to feel uneasy, even. And he shivered. It was getting pretty cold for him. You could say that this was illogical, since he could warm himself up with just his body. Which is true. But it seemed to be harder for the Fire Spirit tonight. Thankfully for him, the harsh weather was not going to bother him long, for his guest arrived. A geyser soon formed just in front of him. That made him startled, along with his flames flaring up in surprise. But Fire Spirit soon relieved himself to the geyser, soon splitting itself, and a gracious cookie figure landed on the grass, in front of him. She had her hair glowing like the glistening water he had seen. Her eyes were of a crystalline blue, and her gown was like two waves clashing with each other. She was also holding on some kind of sword, the handle made of the same ivory material as her seashell crown. That's where Fire Spirit could recognize the cookie just in front of him.
"Sup, Sea !" he greeted the water muse, while she bent down in front of him.
"Greetings, Fire Spirit... I am happy to see you," she addressed him in a whispery voice.
"Me too !"
Thus started a conversation between them. That was relieving for both of them, as Sea Fairy would tell stories to entertain Fire Spirit's ears, and he would joke out to make her laugh. It could last for hours, without exhausting themselves up. They were just enjoying each other's presence, like two friends standing by each other's side. Despite their differences, they were so close to each other ! Nothing could tear them apart ! Nothing, unless...
"So, what's up ?"
"O-Oh, nothing too alarming... Sugarteara is still standing..."
"Sweet ! Is Moonlight also taking good care of you ?"
"Oh, yes. She is very kind to me. She showed me tips on how to hold my sword at night," to that, Fire Spirit gritted his teeth.
That damned sword, he muttered to himself. That damned sword and that damned curse that made me forced to separate from my Sea. You will pay for this, Dark !
"Fire Spirit, is something going on...? Your flames are starting to brighten."
Sea Fairy's voice suddenly broke in his transe, like a lullaby a toddler would listen to fall asleep. Peaceful and harmonious. Fire Spirit wanted to lie to her -- since her curse can be the subject of tensions between them -- but at the same time... he would have felt guilty for letting her with a buried burden that not even him could bear. He slowly regained calm, before he spoke up :
"I was thinking about... Dark Enchantress. And how of a witch she was for splitting us apart."
"Oh... I see," was all she said before she looked down at her sword. She could see her face on the surface of it.
"Are you... still feeling bad about what happened at the beach ?"
"If I'm bad ? The hell I am. I'm more than that," and he then abruptly stood up, his fists clenching. "She's going to pay for what she did to us ! To everyone ! If she wasn't here to mess up everything... it would have been better ! But, not at all !" his flaming hair started to glow again. "I... I could have been here... I could have been here for you... so, why wasn't I here for you when this day came !!!"
Fire Spirit fell to his knees, hitting the floor with his fists. A portion of grass just beneath him started to burn, then turned to burnt down and ashy soil. His breath quivered, as he tried to manage his anger. To not burst out of rage, just in front of her. He knew exactly what to do. Too much fire or too much water, and it could kill them both. But, as he was regaining control of himself, he saw the same geyser forming in front of him, with Sea Fairy lying just on top of it. He huffed sarcastically.
"Tch. What's up now, Sea ? Gonna dump me because I got mad again ?"
"No..." she replied in a shaky tone. "I myself feel bad, too, about this incident. If only I was stronger... like Moonlight, Wind Archer, or even you..." she turned around so her back would face him. "Then, I could have fought back. But, instead, just like tonight, I cried and succumbed to my sorrows. Good night... Fire Spirit."
She turned her head a last time to him, to show him tears trailing down to her chin. She heaved a sigh, as she let the geyser guiding her down, back to the depths of the water that once seemed so calm, but now turned to be stormy. Meanwhile, Fire Spirit could only watch, as his beloved water muse was now nowhere near him. Once again, he was lost without her.
