You woke up to an empty bed , normally that would be strange but considering Mark should've been there it did alarm you slightly . You rolled over yawning wondering where the boy had left to .
"Okay dad , I'm sorry again for what happened. I can imagine how much it was to deal with .... Okay ... okay I'll see you guys again when the semester is over .... Yes I'll let you know when we get home .... Okay I love you too dad ... bye" you overheard Mark before he walked into the room.
His appearance screamed stress , he had on a hoodie with the hood up in attempts to hide his messy hair along with the sweats he slept in. "Morning sleepy head" he said, offering you a light smile before walking over and laying down next to you again placing his head on your lap.
You reached down and moved the hood to play with his hair , "my moms still a bit shook about the news so they said they won't be back by when we leave , they went to sort out some business stuff as well " he sighed and you could tell he was upset about how it affected his mom. "Did they even come home last night?" you asked , mark just shook his head.
"No idea where they went from the restaurant and my dad didn't say anything on the phone either" he shrugged.
"I'm sorry she had to find out like that , I wish we could've like sat them both down and then told them and like properly explained it all" you said and he nodded before turning to face you again . "Yea me too dude it just all felt rushed and weird kinda like i was hiding it from them you know" , "i mean technically we were mark" you said softly and he let out a sigh not wanting to admit the fact that it might've been his fault. "Anyway we need to get going as soon as we can so I'm gonna go shower" he said and you nodded.
He hopped up before disappearing into the bathroom .
