September 20th || Bokuto's Birthday
After school you got ready to go to Bokuto's house. It was kind of chilly out so you put on a cute sweatshirt and some ripped jeans. You didn't really like that pair of jeans because the holes cut into your thigh, but Bokuto was waiting downstairs for you and you didn't wanna take a long time. You put your knotless braids into a high ponytail with a swoop and did your edges. You put a little bit of mascara and lip gloss on, then grabbed your purse.
Bokuto was waiting nervously while talking to your mom. "You like my daughter?" Your mom asks him. "Uhhhh." He blushed and got flustered. "I'll take that as a yes. Happy Birthday Bo." She gave him a small cake. "Thank you Ma." He smiled while still blushing. You came downstairs and saw that he was blushing.
"Momma." You say. "I didn't say anything." She says. Bokuto looked you up and down and got even redder. "Bokuto are you okay?" You ask him confused. He just nodded. Your mom gave him some water and hugged you. "Be back by 10." She says while hugging you. "I will, I love you mom." You said as she kissed your forehead. "I love you too, and both of you be safe." She pulled back.
You and Bokuto walked out of the restaurant and as you guys walked it was kind of silent. "How are you enjoying your birthday so far?" You asked. "It's going good, except for the fact that the guys poured freezing water on me this morning at practice." He says. "It was cold this morning, you sure you're not sick?" You cupped his face and felt his forehead to check his temperature which made him red. "Bokuto I think you're sick." You say seeing his face all red. "I'm not it's just cold out here." He says and looks away.
You guys walk so more and Bokuto linked his pinky with yours that made you get butterflies. Then he fully held your hand. "Bokuto what are you doing?" You say trying to act like you're not nervous. "You're hand looked cold so I'm warming it up." He says. "You're so stupid." You smile. As you both held hands he rubbed the side of your finger with his thumb. "Stop that, it tickles." You say. "Well.." He says then he starts tickling you. "Bokuto move!" You say laughing and pushing him away. He fell and pulled you down with him. You both ended up on the side of the side walk in a pile of crunchy fall leaves. (Don't worry the Cake was fine.)
He got up first and hovered over you getting all the leaves off of you. You admired him a little, but looked away when he smiled at you. "My parents are gonna get worried." He helps you up. "I bet." You say taking the leaves out of his hair. You finish getting all the leaves off of him and you smack him arm. "Ow." He says. "Mhm." You say. He held your hand again and walked to his house.
Bokuto's House || 5:29 pm
You and Bokuto finally arrived at his house. Bokuto walked in holding your hand. "Bokuto." You say getting shy. "Hi parents." He says, and then they pop confetti. "Happy Birthday!" His parents say. "Thank you." He says with a huge smile. "Hi." You smile and let go of Bokuto's hand to shake his parents' hands. "I'm Y/n, Bokuto's friend." You shake both their hands. "Hi, y/n." His mom says to you. "You're very pretty, and respectful. Good job Bokuto." His dad says to you then to Bokuto. "We've heard a lot about you." His mom says then winks at Bokuto and Bokuto blushes because of all the embarrassing things he's told them.
You sat at the table and Bokuto's two older sisters were there. "Is this your girlfriend Bokuto?" One of them asks in a monotone voice. "Uh." He blushes. "We're just friends." You say. "Aw cute." One of them says with a cheerful voice. They gave thanks, as you did too and began to eat. "So Y/n, do you have good grades?" His mom asks. "Yes ma'am. I either get all A's or A's and a couple B's." You say after swallowing your food. "Oh nice. She can help you with some of the things you're struggling on like English Bokuto." His mom says. "She helps me a lot. She does choir and majorette I think." He says. "Yeah I do." You say getting shy.
"Oh wow, that must be a lot of work." His dad says. "It is, but I manage." You say. "Can you sing for us?" His cheerful sister asks. "I shouldn't." You say. "You can sing happy birthday." Bokuto says. "I'm not that good." You say. "You are." He says holding both your hands and looking in your eyes. His sisters secretly take a picture of you guys holding hands. "Mmm...fine." You say. You drink some water as Bokuto's parents bring the cake out.
Bokuto admired you as you sang happy birthday to him. He barely noticed that you stopped singing. "Blow out the candles Bokuto." You smack his arm. "Oh yeah." He blew out the candles and looked at you. "You're drooling, Bokuto." The monotone sister says. "No I'm not, s-shut up." He says and starts eating his slice of cake as you are as well.
Bokuto's Room || 6:54 pm
You were proof reading Bokuto's English worksheet on his computer. "There's a lot of grammar errors." You say. "Like what?" He opens all of his gifts and puts them up. "Like the placements of the commas, semi-colons, and some of the words aren't needed." You say. "Why?" He sits next to you at the desk. You started giving him a whole grammar lesson as he just stared at your lips talking.
"Are you even listening?" You look at him and then back up a little when you notice how close his lips were to yours. "Yeah I was listening." He says and lays his head on your shoulder. "Lies." You say. You gave him back his laptop and helped him finish his work.
Sidewalk || 8:17 pm
It was dark out with only the streetlights lit. "Can I hold your hand?" He asks. "Why?" You ask. "Just in case a kidnapper tries to snatch you away." He says. "Sure I guess." You say. He held your hand and walked you back home. "My family really likes you." He says. "I can tell. I was nervous for no reason." You say. "Exactly." He says pulling you closer to him. "Why do you always want me to be close to you?" You ask. "Because you're warm, and I wanna keep you safe. He says.
"Mm." You say, but a lot of questions ran through your head. Like "Does he actually like me?", "Why does he wanna keep me safe?", "Why does he still keep me around?", "Is it just for homework, or charity?" Hella questions were revving through your mind. You barely noticed that you were home.
"Y/n." Bokuto snapped you back into reality. "Yeah?" You say. "We're at your house." He says. "Oh yeah." You say and go to the door to unlock it. "Wait." He says grabbing your arm. "Yes Bo?" You ask. He pulls you by your arm into his chest and hugs you. "See you at the Skating Rink?" He says while hugging you. "I'll see you there." You hug back and then go to your door. "Bye." You say. "Bye N/n." He smiles and waved. You waved back from the glass on your door as you locked it.
He walked away from your door feeling happy and confident. While you flopped onto your bed sighing with your mind still racing.
