Newfound feelings... and heartbreaks

Jennie

I look out the window

Rain pouring.

For some reason, there's going to be a thunderstorm and stuff.

So school is cancelled for the day.

But I can't go home,

Because my mom and dad are both at work.

Well at least I'm not alone.

You said your parents were busy too.

So we headed to the music room.

Apparently you play the piano and rap and produce music, and tpla the guitar, and play drums?

Seriously, you are amazing.

We head onto the piano.

You played while I sang.

We decided on 'Beautiful by Crush' from one of my favorite Kdramas, 'Goblin'.

As I was singing, you gaze stayed on the piano,

While my gaze stayed on you.

I unconsciously started studying all your features.

Suddenly, you looked up at me with a smile.

Right then and there, I wanted to kiss you.

I was confused at the sudden emotion and tried to zone back in.

What the hell am I thinking?

I'm just your friend.

But now, those words sting.

Why am I acting like this?

It doesn't make sense unless...

It can't be!

We're just friends and it's impossible.

I can't be thinking like this!

Stop this crap now.

Ugh.

You turned your attention back to the piano.

And the song ended.

There was deafening silence after.

"So uh do you want to head to the canteen?" You asked.

I nodded.

"What's wrong Nini?" you questioned as you took my hand.

If only you knew how much those words affected me.

How your actions affected me.

I must be going crazy.

"N-nothing..." I answered, stuttering.

Since when did I stutter before?

"Nini, can I ask a favor?"

"Sure," I replied.

"I really like Nayeon, can you help me court her? Do you have her number? I'm sorry to ask, but I really need your help Nini!!!" You mumbled.

Who knew, in a matter of seconds, you could feel your heart breaking, your tears coming, yourself frozen, and you can't do anything about it, except hold it in and smile.

"Of course! You don't even have to ask. Anything for my best friend."

At least the last 5 words weren't lies.
