Dear Quadratic Formula, I hate you oh so much.

Jisoo

As I walk home from the field,

Soaking wet,

After running in the rain with Jennie and the others

To help them feel better,

My mother runs to me from my house.

I started smiling,

Because I thought that she was worried about me.

"Jisoo! Where were you?" She asked.

"Don't worry eomma, I just-"

But I was wrong.

Again.

"WHY ARE YOU BEING SO IRRESPONSIBLE, YOU HAVE A MATH COMPETITION IN A FEW DAYS AND YOU DIDN'T SPEND THE AFTERNOON STUDYING?WHAT HAS GOTTEN INTO YOU?" She lectured.

My smile quickly faded.

Why did I keep my hopes up?
If I died,

She'd most likely worry about how she doesn't have another daughter to achieve her dreams through.

Aside from the fact that her only child is gone from this world.

Anyways, enough of that.

I must study for the...math competition.

Oh, how I despise even hearing it,

Which is tragic because that's all they ever talk about,

Aside from my grades themselves.

"And remember, you have to beat that wench Kim Aena AND BEAR VICTORY UPON THE ENTIRE COMPANY!" Mom cackled.

She saw my confused face and added:

"I mean, her son, Seokjin. Beat Seokjin, Kim Jisoo." She said as she said wench's son's name with disgust.

"Good night!" She smiled as she walked out of my room.

By good night, she means, study till your brain can't take anymore formulas and theorems and your sanity is lost,

all while having school tomorrow at seven.

I love my life.

Okay.

"The standard form of a quadratic equation is ax2 + bx + c = 0, where a, b are the coefficients, x is the variable, and c is the constant term. The first condition for an equation to be a quadratic equation is the coefficient- damn it I won't be getting any sleep tonight." I muttered under my breath.
