We were now in California at my house. I pulled into the driveway excited. We got out, got our luggage, and I unlocked the door.
I walked in to see my little boy max sitting on the sofa with the tv on. He ran up to me, and tackled me to the ground, then started smothering me in kisses.
"You never told me you had a dog, and did I just see it watching TV?" She said scratching her head.
"Yes, I got him about three years ago, and yes I can turn it on from my phone. Right now he seems to be watching.... The secret life of pets, hm nice maxie." I said, and walked into the kitchen.
I take care of max, and I'm usually not gone for long the max I've been gone was 6 days... I was in Oregon for about 4 and a half. Plus max knows how to take care of himself he's really smart.
I put my keys in the drawer and we started to put stuff away, and get ready to sleep. We left at 11pm and it's now 1 am. We took a shower, fed max etc and went to bed.
Reed and I were cuddling when max came up in between us, and plopped down. We laughed, and cuddled him before heading to sleep.
Three days later...
It was now the day before New Year's Eve, and it was hectic. I had to just drop by at work to check up on everything, then I had a hair appointment, and other errands. Reed and I had a late night couples counseling session as well later also.
After checking up, I headed back home just to get into comfortable clothes for my hair appointment.
"Hey Jade do you need help with anything I'm just sitting here at home while you're out doing so much, I don't want you to overwork yourself." She said and gave me a kiss on the head.
"I'm good, I just have a hair appointment to be ready for tomorrow, and then I have to go to the store real quick, just relax babe." I said giving her a kiss before grabbing my keys
"Okay love you see you later" we told eachother before I left
The hair appointment...
"Braids, locs, butterfly, what are you getting babe" my best friend/ hairdresser T asked me during my wash
Tesha: My best friend, I've known her ever since I moved back to cali, she black, she's straight, I call her T for short, she's about 5"8 the same height as me, and she's literally my ride or die.
"I'm straightening it T, I just don't want to deal with it, and it looks good with what I'm wearing tomorrow."
"So how was Oregon, and how's Laura I haven't seen her in like a month!"
"She's good, and bitchh you don't even know"
The conversation between her and I talking about the shit that went down in Oregon lasted for like three hours, she literally done when I finished talking.
"Oooo slayed again babe, I can't get enough" I said admiring my hair from every angle.
"I'd never let you hanging Jade... but in all seriousness, are you okay? That's a lot to deal with, do you need a break or a vacation, one without drama?" She asked giving me a concerned face
"Thanks but I'm good honestly, we're working it out, and we're actually going to a counselor in a couple hours... anyways do you have anything to spill I know mine took a long time."
"Nah I'll tell you tomorrow, I'm have a client coming soon, and you should go home and get some rest you look and sound tired babe" she said, and hugged me

About a hour later I was done with everything, target, book store, petco, and I was done. I drove back home, and brought all my bags in at once.
It was heavy, so as so as I walked in, and locked the front door, I dropped them to the floor. I turned my head to see a table with two plates of pizza, roses, and reed lighting a candle. The pizza was like one of those from a fancy Italian rest with the leaf and one pice of mozzarella on each pizza.
"Oh my goodness" I said grabbing my mouth
My tired face softened to the beautiful sight. I looked down to see max also eating his food.
I walked up to her, and wrapped my arms around her waist.
"This is so cute I love you Reed"
"I love you too Jade... come sit" she said pulling a chair out for me
She pulled out my seat, and sat in the seat across from me. We started eating the delicious food, and I was pretty impressed.
"This is really good Reed, when did you learn how to do this?"
"Actually ever since the first time you spent the night at my house, and we ended up getting pizza outside because I fucked up that pizza we tried to make."
"Wow well it's really good Reed, are you like a chef now or something?"
"Just for you" she said, and took my hand from across the table. "Jade I wanted to make this dinner for you because I'm thankful. Im very thankful that you understand me, and know how I feel at all times. I'm glad that you haven't given up on me... us, and that you're finding ways to help us to change my bad habits. I wanted to make this for you to show my appreciation visually and verbally, so Jade thank you... so much"
I smiled while my eyes started tearing up
"Reed I would do it if I was on my death bed. I love you, and to you thanks that you reminded me what romantic love was agian after all these years."
"Thank you for letting me after all I did."
We smiled at each other, and had a regular dinner together. We talked about work, she complemented my hair, and we talked about how our lives has been all these years while we waited to go.
I put on a black formal but minimalist dress with heals, and put on a little bit of makeup before we left. Reed was already changed and ready. We got into the car, and started the route.
"Nice car Jade, I forgot to ask you, but did you get rid of the hellcat?"she asked
"No hell no I would never get rid of it. This is outside, and the hellcat I take out on weekends or just to relive stress with max, that one stays in the garage."
"Mmm" she said and we continued the drive
